i think it would make jumping a whole lot easier to jump from a height that is certain death, that way i wouldnt hesitate. Really thinking of just getting a ticket for a flight in one and jumping out mid flight. I'm really shit scared of cliffs coz of the probability of failing.

From videos I've seen on youtube of people flying in them, there really are no barriers so i guess it would be easy to just dive out mid flight in a split second.

The way that you feel is understandable as it sounds so horrifying failing ctb. I envy those with the courage for jumping. I wish you freedom from all suffering.

Thanks but no thanks. I am positive that I should not need to impact the earth to ctb. I am also positive that on the way down to smite earth that both my bowels and my bladder would completely evacuate quite involuntarily.
This of course would have been prefaced by a fart of such strength and magnitude as to scorch the earth below, and break window panes for miles. Naturally a fart of such strength and magnitude would have birds falling out of the skies, cats and dogs on the ground would require lengthy stays at veterinary hospital, due to the sulphurous stench. Therefore I must respectfully submit, that it would kill too many innocent life forms, for me to join you. Nevermind that when they did the autopsy they would discover that jumping out of a hot air balloon.l didn't kill me, fear would be the cause of death. Peace and love.

Thanks

People will try to grab and save you. I think it's unlikely you'd manage to pull that off

You know, at least for me, there's something about being really, really high, say 10,000 feet, that takes the fear out of the fear of heights. I don't know what it is. Everything looks so small, and is so far away, that it just drains the fear away. It feels surreal.

Do you worry about the balloon operator trying to prevent you from hopping overboard? If you don't make a clean getaway on the first attempt, he is sure to try to subdue you, even if it means cold cocking you (knock you out).

Also, how do you feel about using another person to aid in your ctb? It is sure to give him a guilt complex, even though he had no part of your plan.

I think it would be tough to jump out of a hot air balloon since the walls are pretty high and you would start acting suspciiously and then the person fly8ing the balloon would likely tackle you if you tried to get out, then you would go to jail, I'm pretty sure this would be some kind of a crime. The operators of this business know this is a risk that could ruin their business, so I am sure they keep and eye out for anyone acting strangely. It woudl be difficult to act normal just before you jump, just before ctb a person would likely look very sad and probably start to cry, I don't think you could get yourself to jumjp if you wer5e in a happy state of mind. This is a terrible idea for ctb, m ainly because it involves other people who are not consenting to this situation- it would be a very, very selfish way to ctb, since if it di work you would really hurt their business. Please do not try this.

It's a good idea in theory, you'd definitely get high enough. But I agree with what everyone else said about likely being stopped, and traumatizing others as well. Plus they might be suspicious beforehand if you signed up to go by yourself.

Could go sky diving and don't open the parachute. If you're in a balloon someone can grab you. Course the other jumpers may try to save you too.

Sky diving seems like a romantic way to go. There is a bit of work involved, you have to get a few jumps under your belt (tandem or static line) before you are rated for solo freefall, but once you are there, in the sky by yourself, there is no one who will be harmed if you decide not to open your chute. Whoever has to remove your body may be a bit traumatized, but no one will have to feel guilty or have their business damaged. It will be obvious that you didn't attempt to open your chute so no one will blame the chute packer.

I wonder why more people don't do that or maybe I just haven't heard about it personally.

Jumping out of a hot air balloon is stupid as a CTB method. Mainly because it's extremely rare for a customer to fly a hot air balloon alone. You'll almost always have an operator with you. And if you even try to climb out and jump overboard, the operator with pull you back in, punch you hard in the stomach to make you regret trying it, and call the police on you the minute you land. Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it!

Someone earlier suggested the skydiver method: getting tandem jumps in until the skydiving school lets you jump solo, then simply not opening the parachute. But even then, there's a risk of you surviving and permanently damaging both of your legs. At which point, CTB'ing becomes a lot more problematic when you're sitting in a wheelchair your entire waking hours.

Surviving a jump out of an airplane without a parachute does happen but it's extremely rare. It involves something to absorb the impact, like a steep slope covered with deep snow.

A+ for originality... But SI will still be there for the fear of success... Aaaand people survived failed parachutes... Sorry... Can you go alone in it? I think you'll traumatize the one flying it. Try sky diving?

A++ for the best fart poetry I have ever read. You made farts sound noble. 😆
