If you are going to jump off Beachy Head then make sure it's high enough. Don't make the mistake I did in late 2018 where I fell off Beach Head from a height of 130 feet but survived. I say "fell" because I never had the guts to jump. What happened is that I blacked out and fell.

The police told my family in hospital that I wouldn't survive but I did. Though the problem was the injuries I had. These were:

Fractured skull
Fractured eye sockets
Broken nose
Smashed teeth
Fractured and dislocated shoulder
All my ribs broken
Torn spinal cord
Broken vertebrae

I have only just got out and of hospital after being inside for over six months. Other things that happened in hospital:

Sepsis twice
Blood clots in my lungs, stomach and legs

I was told I wouldn't walk again but I have proved them wrong, though other problems:

Incontinent in both my bladder and bowels for life
Partially disabled for life
Nerve pain 24/7 for life
Virtually one handed for life
Forgetful and confused a teary a lot

Therefore if you are going to do it make sure you don't mess it up and have bad injuries.
I'm very sorry to hear what you've been through and what you're still going through.

May I ask what caused you to black out at Beachy Head?

Beachy Head is, for you, accessible. Not sure how far the train gets you there but i'm pretty sure you can get a bus from the station to it. You need to possibly, scout, the cliff to see where the highest drop is, some parts are not high enough. You also have to be careful of the BHCT (Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team) that patrol the cliff "24/7" on the look out for jumpers. Also you will need the over come the SI to jump which can be very hard. Personaly, it's overall a good method? Just going to be the SI that's gunna be the pain in ass. Best of luck with your decision.
I was at beachy head recently and in the whole 6 hrs or so that i was there,i saw a patrol car once.I stood on the ledge numerous times and was not approached or stopped by anyone.beachy head is such a long stretch of cliff edge so there will always be a perfect spot to jump.

I went to Beachy Head a while back. The highest places seem to be near the Red and White Lighthouse. I went right to the edge and took a picture of the final view onto rocks around 500ft below. Definitely a sure way. Think I worked out you'd hit the ground at around 100mph!

Yes i drove 260 miles to jump but the picture of my son in my mind stopped me to my disappointment.

I'm very sorry to hear what you've been through and what you're still going through.

May I ask what caused you to black out at Beachy Head?

I visited Beachy Head about 20 times before I fell but just couldn't jump. Even the chaplains said hello to me, though I did lie to them and said I was at Beachy Head to do exercise.

All I can remember before I blacked out is that I saw a boy with his father and he was shouting "daddy, daddy" I am a father but don't see them very often and with all the other things going on in my life, for example losing my job, separated from my wife, my brain couldn't cope with it all and Iblacked out. I tried to jump but got too scared. I even slipped a couple
of times andd nearly fell which scared the hell out of me.
How pissed off would you be.!
It takes pure courage to jump there.he over came his SI to land on a ledge.
That type of shit would happen to me !

I dont think u can appreciate its sheer drop until u visit.it took me by surprise.!

Gosh @Captain Moby ,that is a full list of serious injuires.i am sorry to hear this and the extent to your present problems.x

Thank you. I have got a long road to recovery both physically and mentally. Have tried to take my life now three times and have failed at it. I've realised I'm not good at it and I'm not going to do it again.

I've always wanted to go out at Beachy Head but the notoriety and cliffside security is just too much of a risk these days. It's also halfway across the country for me lol

It's less about being stopped at the edge by some fucking "hero" and more about going down there and someone at a local hotel/inn/restaurant/pub noticing you're traits and reporting you to the local authorities. I was intending to go down there alone and I likely would've raised serious suspicion before I even reached the cliffs

So I'm thinking of ctb by jumping from Beachy Head. Its around 200 miles away from where I live but train tickets are only around £86 (€112.51). Money isn't a problem, going to a different city will be ideal and the method seems like it would work (it has for other people).

What do you think? Good or bad idea?
Go for it - I plan to die in North Wales surrounded by nature the mountains the scenery plus it's also so my death doesn't get picked up by the local media I don't really want others knowing I died by suicide - ideally I'd walk across crib goch a steep ridged path with a steep slope one side and just fall making it a suicide but not looking like suicide maybe except darn I'm scared of bloody heights so I'd never even make it up there !!!!

To be honest I drove there. Walked on the cliffs. Quite a few people around walking but some quiet spots. I went right to the edge and took the photo. Nobody anywhere near me or suspecting anything. I even climbed over a small fence to take the pic. There wasn't anyone running towards me trying to stop me or ask what I was doing. I think it's all blown out of proportion by the media to put people off who want to ctb.

So have they put up a dainty little fence near the supposed "prime suicide spot" (aka the high point near the lighthouse)? That's cute. Either way when I do CTB I'll be doing it at night out of sight so it's less of an issue, but you're insight and experience is helpful thanks :)

I used to get spotted by the chaplains a lot when I first visited. It was because I used to wear the wrong clothing, never put a ticket in my car etc. the chaplains are really good at it. I then visited in walking boots, raincoat, put a rucksack on and put a ticket on my car. I then got left alone.

Though please don't jump, people that love you will always wonder why you did it and will blame themselves for not helping more than they could have.

No I think it was an old fence to keep you from walking too close to the unsafe cliff edge at that spot.
I had planned to find the spot and go back at night. Although I could have easily jumped at that point and I don't think anyone would have noticed.

Ah yes, the old UK tourist camouflage, Cagoule and all :) I guess it's all about looking as innocuous as possible. As for your second statement I'm afraid I can't exactly agree :/

I'm sorry to hear that. I really do wish you all the best for the future. I was in a bad place for the last couple of years and each day is usually really shit, but I do hang onto hope that things will get better. I hope that good things happen to you and you are happy in life.

Driving off a cliff. Interesting. Easier than jumping.

There'd be a better chance of surviving since the car would take part of the impact.

VEry likely to get caught as well. THe road is now gated so you can't drive right up to the cliffs anymore like you used to be able to. Even if you drove through barriers you'd be seen by so many people it would be very obvious

Would that really help you? I would be frozen in anxiety if I popped a few Adderall before trying to jump. Yikes, but good for you.

This is my chosen method and location.the only issue will be the Si.but I know the best locations and will jump at night so I won't be able to see the drop so clearly and I don't want anyone to have to witness it

Yes that was my plan too. Maybe even let myself fall off backwards too.

When was the last time anyone ctb there? Seems to have gone quiet recently.
