Rawls not comparable in the current period? He is one of the most cited american scholars within the justice system. His ideas are pretty status quo here in the states.

I would say that, at least in Europe, the idea of justice as fairness as it's presented by Rawls is the basis of liberalism. In other words, I think most liberals (which constitute the majority, really) would agree with that particular formulation of justice.

I mean, he was 40 when it was the period of Civil Rights, it wouldn't be the same if he was born in the 1980s
