Hi everyone! I have been neet for pretty much a year now and it's been really nice, being able to wake up whenever and do whatever has been magical, plus getting 10 hours+ sleep has been really nice. The only negative is that my life has become extremely lonely and kinda boring, i really have nothing to do most days and spend most of the time laying around outside, exploring the woods or sleeping (me and my cat basically share the same sleep schedule lol) Losing contact with most of my "friends" from high school after graduating has left me totally alone. I really wish my time in school would have been better and that i would have tried harder to find my oneitis, I feel like i missed out on so much and now I'm left with no one. Working minimum wage is tiring but the people you meet are so nice, having people to talk to while working even if it's mostly about shallow things was so nice.

I feel like the perfect life would be being neet with someone else, just ripping the government off and being constantly together sounds so nice.

Anyone else a neet? Do you think it has contributed to your SI? I personally just feel like I'm simply existing and wasting my youth that i should be spending together with someone.

i mostly love being a neet because of the freedom and energy i have without work or school. it does get lonely being a loser (said with the utmost pride) because so many people socialize through work or school precisely and it can be hard to find people otherwise. i feel like i am outside broader society, like a rat. fortunately there are loads of other rats, if one is lucky enough to find them. spending time with other neets is so fulfilling to me whereas i easily start to feel like a freeloader when i see other people simply having things to do. there is a lot of guilt. even though i know that school and work was too much for me, and even though i don't agree with the 8 hour workday politically/ethically. still, being mentally well enough that i have the energy and the will to do things and to keep a social life going, all the while being a neet, has been some of the best time of my life. :) / edit to say that i am really fucking lucky to be able to loan money from relatives, i would be in a ditch otherwise bc i don't qualify for benefits. trying to get a part-time job currently and have been for around 6mo, before which i was sick for a year, before which i was in work and school.

Being neet with someone else with the way that you described it sounds like heaven. I miss being neet, it truly brings such a nice memory of a simpler time, even if you were still faced with bad emotions at the time of being a NEET, the lack of having to deal with more of the bullshit of modern life made those bad emotions at the very least more simple to deal with. Please relish and enjoy NEET-hood for me. I try to breathe some fun and energy into the workplace and its people but eventually all the fun and life just disappears and is replaced by an empty monotonous feeling.

Yea I know right! It's just simple, no superficial bs to worry about just experiencing life in it's natural state and the emotions that come with it. The way things should be. I grew up in a white trash neighbourhood and where I'm from the government is very kind to people that wont (lol) or can't work (you are provided with housing and cash). These people were fantastic, a real community where people looked out for one another and relished just existing and being with one another.

The workplace can be so horrible, nobody wants to be there so it seems like most people just shut off completely, it's really disturbing when you realise people do something they hate doing for 40 hours a week their ENTIRE life, most people have to believe in an afterlife to live like this there is no other way. Wishing u luck with work!

Oh the way you described it just sounds like a much more conscious and present way of living life!! Haha as for how you described the workplace that's spot on, it seems like some people just find some merit or value in suffering and so having all your time on Earth allocated to working points to being a valuable human being in their eyes. Thank you for wishing me luck!!

i view myself as Hikikomori. I am outside just for work and gym then inside mostly. Friends, family? Whats that. Barely socialise. For me I love it and I wish I dove into it head first long ago. I do get the lonely part but well, assuming what you looking for is a partner, the dating market is a shit show. Lol. Disclaimer. I am not an incel (lmao... saying that in and of itself can suggest i in fact am so whatever... its a lose lose lol). Maybe try it and see. That is dating. U can use apps if you are shy/nervous. And well see whats out there. Your own lived experiences will tell you if you are right in this path or not. That said, don't expect to find like minded especially when you hold a frowned upon lifestlye (fk em.... do what makes u happy)
