Sorry to hear that. I know that hanging is a very popular ctb method, but it doesn't sound very pleasant. One summer, I contemplated getting a rope, a bottle of JD and going to the woods. Glad, I waited for more peaceful methods.
Good. Find another method. It is a lot more complicated than people make it seem.
Any tips for how you were able to get to that point?
It is so weird, part of me doesn't want to tell you how and the other part of me says "you wouldn't have figured it out if you didn't read many posts on here, so, why not". I will preface my answer with this: I am glad it didn't work and hope you do not try it. Now that I got that shit out of the way, after trying several times without blacking out, I read somewhere on this site that you have to place the rope directly under the Adam's apple (which is contrary to several posts that says place the rope higher up, directly under the jawline--which I did several times and never got it right...). This time, I placed it directly under my A. apple and turned it so that the more my body went limp, the tighter the rope squeezed on my carotid artery. It worked this time. I used a silk rope from my bathrobe, so, I'm guessing once I passed out and put my full weight on it, it just untied because when I came to, the rope wasn't in a know anymore. It left a pretty nasty ligature mark on my neck as well. :(
I had a similar experience though I never managed to pass out. I was fully conscious and struggling to get free, but my arms and legs were numb and uncoordinated. It was very panicky, as I was fully away of my surroundings, but not able to free myself. I eventually was able to do it and I'm here to tell the story.
wow. that sounds freaking terrifying
Good for you. Are u able to find the sweet spot again. Hanging seems too technical for me.
I think if I tried it again, i can find it. once you know, you know. however, I do not think I would try it again, tbh.
Be careful, you could die playing around like that. It does not seem safe to me.
thank you and you are right. I almost did die. I've learned if you are not really, truly, ready to ctb, do not try anything suggest on here. this isn't for the faint at heart. i thought I wanted to ctb, but, something about it gave me this steely taste in my mouth. kissing death isn't as easy as one thinks. it can be a very sobering experience.
