I was thinking about this too! I'd open up SaSu and see 1,000 guests or somewhere around that, then open at a later time and see 10,000 guests and my jaw would just drop. (Hello guests ^^)

I mean, the earth itself has 8 billion people now. Most are adults and young adults who have recognized the struggles in living in this sort of society. I don't think it's weird that we have this ratio?

With how the things are currently going in the world (wars, poverty, hunger and lack of proper healthcare) this number does not surprise me at all.
it does surprise me quite a lot I didn't know people knew about this forum it's... very concerning I don't get it though is this like a time phase or many people were suicidal even before

hmm yeah you're right it's just feels so odd to me 11k is a huge number I never thought this forum will get much recognition tbh

The thing is, the world has always been a difficult place. In the past, there were wars, poverty, and hunger often much worse than what we see today. While many people seem ungrateful, I find it odd that we're seeing such a spike in depression and suicide rates due to world problems. Were people in the past just as depressed and suicidal?

p sure that the world has always had suicidal people. Especially in the past when mental health wasn't as recognized as today. People suffered in silence. We should be happy that SaSu exists for those seeking help to recover and those who want to vent (still not excusing those who look for methods and encourage others to ctb)

I like signature btw. Just a person spinning in water.

Rakka? Imma look her up. What is the anime about?

Also,
this has literally been an issue for me as a user for the longest time but I'm going to prove it to you all that this site has truly lost its direction.

Lumin, if you want to avoid discussions regarding suicide, you can deactivate it through your profile settings.

SS 1 SS 2

HOWEVER,
the problem with this is that, every time you open "Forums" for "New posts", you can still find suicide discussions.

SS 3

That's all I can do to help you, really. If you're uncomfortable here, I think there may be other users who can recommend sites that specifically focus on recovery. SS is a bad place for people wanting to recover. I lost my ex here.

Well, I wouldn't say that it's "bad" but it's definitely not perfect. Yet, since it's people's lives on the line, this site being "not perfect" is "bad" to me.

It's about these cute creatures called Haibane who look like humans, but they have wings and halos. It follows their day-to-day lives it's a pretty neat anime, you should watch it

It's a suicide forum, man. Methods on one side, recovery on the other. People being miserable and sad doesn't help, and with the methods right there for everyone, it's like handing a plate of food to someone who is starving. I've always hated it here. The only decent thing is that I can talk about suicide without all the annoying interference. But it wasn't really about the discussions anyway I always knew how to hide those. I just don't belong. The only thing I've earned from this place is the knowledge of methods I can't even apply. I don't mind feeling sad when I read what people post here, it's just... it gets so exhausting. So repetitive. I don't know how to explain it

I'm so sorry. What was it like when you found out about that site... knowing your ex used the methods from it? It must have been horrific. I really am so sorry

Thanks ♥ the recovery sites won't really help me but thanks for the suggestion

I always avoid talking about this place because I know I'll get attacked by everyone here for saying it. I'm not trying to act morally superior, but let's be real this site is awful, and nothing people do here is ethically right.
