Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

does this seem appropriate to hang from? not the blades, but rather the exact top (where the fan is anchored to the ceiling). ignore the yarn hung below, i was trying to keep my cat entertained!

I tried this and it ripped right off the ceiling immediately, I think they make them flimsy for this reason.

I would say, no, not a good anchor point. I looked at installing a ceiling fan in my house a few years ago, and I can tell you, they're just barely hanging on with enough strength to hold a wobbly fan of only a few pounds. They are not intended to hold a human body which might writhe and jerk around a bit. It would be hard to explain how the fan just happened to rip itself off the ceiling.

No. Not at all. A ceiling fan could weigh up to around 50 pounds (23 kg)... and that's what its infrastructure is designed to support. Your body weight would easily pull everything down.
