I can't take it anymore. I'm so alone and I wish I had friends so badly, but I'm so afraid of talking to people because they're all so superficial. Not once have I ever had a friendship where the other person actually ended up being who they said they were. People love to say things like "I'll always be there for you", and then bail with no explanation. It's just words, and I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who actually means it. I can't keep being the only real person left on Earth. It can be so miserable being yourself. I just want to die.

I can relate, everything feels very superficial. Doesn't it suck to continuously show up for others only to have the same people either turn on you or turn their back to you? I know people aren't perfect but god fucking damn, why is everyone I know so cruel.

I do relate, but I've also learned that it's oftentimes simply that people are weak, not vicious or purposefully deceptive. When they say they'll always be there, they mean it in that moment. Then things go wrong for them or they're spread too thin and they break these promises and hurt people. It's like someone who's bad with money writing checks they can't cash not to deceive, but because they're morons.

Thing is, most people think that they're the only ones who are genuine and mean what they say. Most people lack any self-awareness, which is why it's hard to find people who seem to actually be genuine. People rarely acknowledge when they contradict themselves. Humans are beings of contradictory and we rarely like to call ourselves out for it. You aren't the only real person left on Earth. You aren't above anyone else.

Yeah, I feel the same. I think people who don't have issues themselves literally can't stand actually being there for those of us who are unwell because it's uncomfortable and confronting for them. Ultimately a lot of people are really not selfless like they like to say they are.
