KN is less regulated, but it's a less commonly used chemical in general. If you can find a seller, than you should be able to get it without restriction like SN. The problem would be finding a seller for KN in the first place. I wasn't able to find one yet.

Guys, I've been away from this site for a while. I know we can't really talk about sources but is SN available? I recall failing to get the Ukrainian one to work like a year ago

SN isn't as widespread as it once was. It's still obtainable though, you just have to do some digging. You might have to fabricate some details too depending on the source.

Isn't KN far more expensive in general too? I heard it was around 50$ a pop

I think doing research on carbon monoxide would be good if you've had access to an automobile and a home depot nearby
