Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

every time iv attempted and ended up at the hospital ive been able to convince the psychiatrists 2 let me go home instead of getting committed. i dont want to go to the psych ward because they take your phone and once youve been to the psych ward, you're never able to own a gun again, and you can't get security clearance, and it just makes everything worse forever. but idk i feel like some people go there and it's like meaningful to them and they make friends and stuff and i feel like a faker for never having been to one it's like im pretending to be sad. bleh

I can only speak for myself and not really for other people but I must say for me it was not helpful.
they took my phone, all that was left for me to enjoy, i was still a minor at that time it was a long long time ago so I wasnt allowed to smoke cigarettes, the room was dirty, disgusting and stank, the bed had weird spills, it was loud, horribley the people were mean, they forced me to eat a lot even tho Im autistic and hate all of the things there and they made me very scared, I was still forced to eat them which is partly understandable as I was and still am really underweight, the staff was really unfriendly, they punished me, even made fun of me when i told them I want to go in my room because the people there are loud and cruel, i didn't even get real help. even the therapy there was a cheap excuse to earn money while doing nothing for them, atleast that's what it felt like to me.
the staff was all really unfriendly, constantly did shit that made me feel worse, the other people in the hospital made fun of me and it all just made my life worse, I'm never going there again.

I think it can be if you manage to find the right one like I did. MOST of them are terrible from what I've heard, not just on this site, but from fellow patients who I met while staying at the psych ward I was in. Where I was, I actually enjoyed being there and I wish everyone who went to a psych ward could stay at the one I was in. The food was surprisingly amazing, I was able to read books to my heart's content and I did do some reading while there, but I also wrote a horror novel the last time I stayed at one. I had my own pad of paper and a pencil I could use and I was able to write anytime I had some alone time. I stayed there for a week and during that time, I managed to write 70 pages in that notepad.

I also had fun at the group therapy sessions as we played all kinds of fun games, and got to know the other patients by answering questions on a sheet of paper, handing them in, and then having everyone guess who answered what to which question. As an example, they asked about your favorite TV shows, whether or not you would get a tattoo and what it would be, and where you would go in the world if you had the freedom to go there. At the end of that game, we all got our papers back and I still have mine but I haven't looked at it in a while.

As far as not having a phone, I didn't even have a phone for them to take because I smashed it to tiny little pieces before trying to hang myself the last time I tried to do it. Also smashed the trunk of my car with the crowbar too just like Dean Winchester did to his Impala on Supernatural. I literally put my phone on the trunk while I smashed them both.

It makes me sad knowing that most people have terrible experiences at psych wards, but for some reason I was lucky enough not to? If going to a psych ward was a lottery, I feel like I got to be the millionaire even though I didn't want to gamble. It doesn't seem fair.

its has never personally been helpful for me, but alot of people with mainly depression can benifit from it, since often for them it can be a good way to get reasources.

if youu have truama, or any complex issues, it likely wont do anything except bump you up waiting lists.
