This I could see being on their front page. It sums up what choosing life really means.

"Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life"

...I chose not to choose life. I chose something else. I chose ctb *mic drop*

Sometimes I think you bait people into dunking on those 'evil pro lifers' but I am never sure of your honest stance on life. It could be because I only recently noticed your posts and tbh I did enjoy lighthearted nature of some of them.

I personally think none of us are truly "right", we just live life our own way and it is never as simple as "good and evil". Sometimes we are blind to a lot and make irrational decisions but that just comes with being a human.

Pro-lifers are the genes in Richard Dawkins' "A Selfish Gene." They aren't human. They're human shaped genes attempting to preserve life at all costs. It's in the best interest of the genes to maintain the human group.

I made that up but it seems accurate. Just like how religion is like a virus that needs to spread through proselytizing. Religion hijacks the brains of it's followers. I guess we are under the influence of ctb. We are all the expression of differing genes. This is subatomic warfare.

The sequel "Choose life" is pretty good too:

"Choose... designer lingerie, in the vain hope of kicking some life back into a dead relationship. Choose handbags, choose high-heeled shoes, cashmere and silk, to make yourself feel what passes for happy. Choose an iPhone made in China by a woman who jumped out of a window and stick it in the pocket of your jacket fresh from a South-Asian Firetrap.

Choose Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and a thousand others ways to spew your bile across people you've never met. Choose updating your profile, tell the world what you had for breakfast and hope that someone, somewhere cares. Choose looking up old flames, desperate to believe that you don't look as bad as they do.

Choose live-blogging, from your first wank 'til your last breath; human interaction reduced to nothing more than data. Choose ten things you never knew about celebrities who've had surgery. Choose screaming about abortion. Choose rape jokes, slut-shaming, revenge porn and an endless tide of depressing misogyny. Choose 9/11 never happened, and if it did, it was the Jews.

Choose a zero-hour contract and a two-hour journey to work. And choose the same for your kids, only worse, and maybe tell yourself that it's better that they never happened. And then sit back and smother the pain with an unknown dose of an unknown drug made in somebody's fucking kitchen. Choose unfulfilled promise and wishing you'd done it all differently. Choose never learning from your own mistakes. Choose watching history repeat itself.

Choose the slow reconciliation towards what you can get, rather than what you always hoped for. Settle for less and keep a brave face on it. Choose disappointment and choose losing the ones you love, then as they fall from view, a piece of you dies with them until you can see that one day in the future, piece by piece, they will all be gone and there'll be nothing left of you to call alive or dead.
Choose your future, Veronika. Choose life."

The interesting thing is that because this site has a recovery page, the mirror site would have a suicide discussion page as well and be hated by prolifers for the same reasons they hate this site.

But this site already has the pro-lifer section, it's the "recovery" one which of course I cannot stand as I don't see my wish to die as an illness to "recover" from rather I want to cease existing as I just have awareness of how existence is very undesirable. Nowhere really is free from pro-lifers and their delusions.

There is no "life", but there is no "existence" either. There is also no "reality" as well.

This is like a pick your own adventure book, or the ultimate sandbox.

And everyone plays the game as they prefer. There is no better or worse.

The purpose is made up, there is no purpose (like in a dream), but your interactions within the experience do matter. Be kind, don't do evil things... You know the whole business... Or you could do evil things but then you have to accept the consequences!

Just like in a dream! This one has it's own integrity and structure.

Just don't get sucked to the secondary "dream" of the dream! In this case, that would be the better rambling of words of the "Choose Life" movie that was mentioned above...

The problem is clinging to the world as if it's permanent, we think we will be here forever but it's all borrowed time. We think our possessions mean something other than their own original value! "My Bugatti is better than your shitty ass old car! I have this privileged career, I am Someone in this society!" It goes on and on, the games of our Ego!

If we take things too seriously we are crazy, deluded! But somethings deserve some serious attention, as pain/suffering does exist in this sandbox/dream/choose your own adventure book.

We are like children in a playground who took things too far and forgot that the whole point is to play!

This sounds a lot like Alan Watts but it is not intentional.

Choose life if it makes you happy, or "choose life", whatever makes you happy!

I did not take any psychedelic before writing this, by the way.

Edit: everything is just like Legos (atoms) which combined create even more Legos, and it goes on and on. It is better to build something with these Legos that is beautiful and makes us happy. Some people hoard as many Legos as possible, but imo it is better to share those Legos... Anyway, you can apply any idea using the Lego analogy.

The recovery board is hardly pro-life, so I am not sure what you are looking at. Recovery is just a term used to describe a place for people who are not actively suicidal/still want to hang on but be around like-minded people who can help alleviate suffering as much as possible. If you are on a suicide forum, even on the recovery section, I'd argue you are not pro-life but just someone who is trying to make the best of their situation because they are not ready for CTB.

I do not understand your need for shitting on anything and everything that does not align 100% with your ideology. Really, if it is such a horrible place, I suggest finding another community. Take your agenda elsewhere.

I think I get what you're saying, but reality feels real, which makes it real. It might possibly be a dream/simulation in actuality, but it feels real, which is the point.

... as pain/suffering does exist in this sandbox/dream/choose your own adventure book.
Yip, hard to say things aren't real if someone whacks you in the face with a hammer. That pain exists alright.

The thing is, nobody 'chooses' the life they live. We're all living 'hand-me-down" lives, passed-on programming, followed by a lifetime of societal programmed drudgery.

Whether you get a 'happy' life, or a shit life, nobody chooses.

I also defended her but I am still unsure if she causes harm by doing what she's doing.

Are people easily influenced by her words not to make their own decisions?

Are there people here with hidden agendas in general? Possible and even likely but we can only speculate. This is why I find it weird when people look for ctb partners here so casually or get too close to people they don't really know.

I think it really is important to talk about @FuneralCry's presence here because I think it is concerning. Her rhetoric seems dangerous and far beyond just supportive of suicide.
I think she's a cult leader with her use of repetition that lulls the reader into a trance.

Idk how you can blame anyone for feeling terrible and yet trying to cling to hope, "delusional" or not.

We can respect someone's attempts to recover just as we can respect someone's decision to die. I think it's admirable to feel hopeless and yet keep trying anyways, even when the odds are so bad that others call you delusional for it.

I guess it depends on how we see things. Sure it seems we are very restricted (and we are), but within that restriction we can find some freedom.

Like, I have this body so I need food. To get food I need a job, and then we have many options in what kinds of jobs we want to do (sometimes, it depends a lot on where we live, opportunities, etc...).

But some people have also choose to stray from that path. Granted, it's not very common. Some adopt the vagabond lifestyle, maybe doing odd jobs for a few months a year. Others start their own business, others become monks so society supports them and others are complete hermits/recluses and independent, having animals, foraging, etc.

We are conditioned in many ways but we can break out of that condition if we really want. But there will always be suffering to whatever lifestyle we choose.

We just gotta remember that whatever path we have chosen, we made that choice (because of this or that reason).

Ego is the beginning and the end of all problems. The "Me" center, that sense of Self.

Well considering she has 32,000 posts, I would say this person has a sick agenda or fantasy. @FuneralCry gets a kick out of being involved in it.
I think it really is important to talk about @FuneralCry's presence here because I think it is concerning. Her rhetoric seems dangerous and far beyond just supportive of suicide.
I can see how @FuneralCry rubs people up the wrong way, and I disagree with a lot she says, but there's no nastiness behind her vents.
She deals with her shit by coming on here and constantly venting; she obviously gains comfort from that, otherwise she wouldn't be on here all this time. But I don't see any agenda- she's just very nihilistic.

Sure it seems we are very restricted (and we are), but within that restriction we can find some freedom.
There's no real freedom, there's no such thing as free will.

But some people have also choose to stray from that path. Granted, it's not very common. Some adopt the vagabond lifestyle, maybe doing odd jobs for a few months a year.
Yeah, some venture to the outer edges of the herd, but they're still part of the herd.

We are conditioned in many ways but we can break out of that condition if we really want. But there will always be suffering to whatever lifestyle we choose.
Sadly, there's no delete button for our programming, no system reset option.

Ego is the beginning and the end of all problems. The "Me" center, that sense of Self.
Agreed. Ego is the root of most of societies problems. Some compare ego to a mind-virus, that developed in early humans, and has since become a lifeforce-sucking affliction.

This thread has definitely gone off-topic!😄

Ye but we are all part of the herd though. If you manage to be self-sufficient, you are still depending on nature to sustain you. So you are always depending on something, or someone.

And I think we have free will lol, isn't your own free will to come to this post and reply to comments? You were free to do that, and that was your will.

I don't think they have any sort of "hidden agenda" or anything, but I feel like some of the things they say are a little extreme.
