There are plenty of people who live well without having to work their most vital years away.
Celebrities live well off of royalties from work they did decades ago.
So much wealth and financial comfort is inherited.
You've seen them. They're people who aren't particularly nice or thoughtful or sensitive, not particularly generous with what they have even though they see need and suffering all around them.
"It's all about hard work!". No. No it isn't. If that were true fast food workers, retail workers and janitors would all be rolling in money.
As someone on here said, it would be wonderful to put effort into something that is meaningful to you without having the strain of having to rely on it to remain fed, sheltered and clothed.
And the folks on SS have an especially hard time keeping up with the system that designed it so that those who are rich have to grind their days away at jobs that drain them and mean nothing to them.
I posted a thread about starting a safe home for us here on SS, a place where we could handle manageable jobs while living securely and having each other to rely on when needed.
It's a nice thought.
