Help Is it stupid to tell a girl I like her over a text?

So I am very shy about these things, and I am not sure if I will he able to do it in person.
Is it stupid to do it over a text?
I've never confessed my feelings first cause she is the only girl I wanted to confess too, and usually the guys tell me first. (I am female) idk

I'm certainly not one to be providing romantic advice but I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with it. But, it helps to know whether she will think such a confession is appropriate or not. Good luck :)
