is it more ethical for me to kms in a hotel?

i just don't really know if i have the budget to buy myself a night in anything but a really crummy hotel. i hate the thought of being in a dirty hotel more than dying in the forest. i have some money saved up that i could put towards booking a hotel for one night, which is where my thought is coming from. earlier in the month i was in a trashy hotel where the fire alarm kept going off in the middle of the night and the carpet smelled moldy. it'd suck if i was in a bad hotel again.

where do other people plan that aren't doing it at home plan on doing it? i see the forest as a more economical option, but the darkness just makes my anxious amp up. in a hotel i could just be watching tv or laying in a bed with a trashcan next to me. most penny pinching cheap hotels are usually the worst ones, so i don't know if it's worth it.

i think you should be as at peace during your last moments as is possible (so maybe not the forest). you're noble to be thinking of ethics, but no matter where you choose to ctb, the person that finds your body is going to be shaken regardless. maybe if there is a way to let either the staff or authorities know that you have killed yourself and where? i've heard of people leaving timed messages. but that would require a lot of planning and for things to go exactly to plan...

I concur. People, if they are truly committed to it, deserve to be happy and comfortable in death. Those on this forum that plan to take a trip before they CTB, I believe, are getting the best experience. They can see the world and decide whether they want to stay or if they're still comfortable with catching the bus with fewer regrets.
