I've been considering this and the night night method. But jumping in the ocean, maybe tighten something heavy around my body, sounds fairly easy. Any input?

I have considered the same, but in a lake. Hoping the current is strong enough that I wouldn't need to tie anything to myself

Yeah. It seems like a done deal.

As long as it's no blood involved I'm good. But not sure how much of a drowning you actually notice before you're passed out.

Been thinking of that too, somewhere in the woods. Thing is I don't want to be found, ever. I want to just disappear.

I agree with you...I've prepared an empty room in the basement of my cabin. Though I realise that my body will be found sooner or later and submitted to autopsy...

It's just something about becoming a 'mystery' I want too, rather than the guy who killed himself.

I've arranged almost all details. Now it's only one more step to go.

If I had a cabin or somewhere private I would consider it. You will likely be found in the woods and run the risk of traumatizing an innocent stranger

If I didn't have any family and had a cabin I would go today and off myself. But I need to disappear. What is your method?

But sooner or later someone is going to find my body. But I don't care too much about it.
No I wouldn't care if I was somewhere inside either, although I'm a big fan of nature I personally don't want to be dangling from a tree, a feast for anything hungry.

I dont have any family so that part isn't much of an issue. CO appeals to me as I have to figure out a method in my vehicle. But I'm too scared of screwing up and haven't summoned the balls to purchase what I need. I don't know if I can manage to follow through alone.
I am too. A little getaway would be awesome.
You can plan a getaway to Canada, lots of lakes here

Somebody's phobia is somebody else's method, it seems. I know people drown themselves on purpose but I could never do it for example. Probably drugged and or drunk is the only way I could ever drown myself...

As thrwaway99 said, ones phobia is anothers method. However, personally I want as peaceful a method as possible being the world (or as I see it anyway) has been pain/misery/failure for so long. I'd imagine drowning would be insanely painful/horrific being that waterboarding simulates drowning and it's a torture technique. I guess, then it'll depend on how quickly you'd die when drowning.... which would be rather quickly considering the big body of water? I'm sorry that's a bit of a rambling.

Drowning is a terrible way to ctb. Your SI will definitely kick in. If you decide to go through with it, I would recommend you do what Virginia Woolf did: fill your pockets with rocks. If you want to see what drowning feels like check out the video below, very unsettling stuff:

I also considered drowning, because I read it's not as painful as you would think.
You are supposed to feel euphoria after your lungs are filled with water.
Not sure about that, since I read about it years ago.

Found something interesting on Wikipedia about Drowning though.

The breath-hold break point can be suppressed or delayed either intentionally or unintentionally. Hyperventilation before any dive, deep or shallow, flushes out carbon dioxide in the blood resulting in a dive commencing with an abnormally low carbon dioxide level; a potentially dangerous condition known as hypocapnia. The level of carbon dioxide in the blood after hyperventilation may then be insufficient to trigger the breathing reflex later in the dive and a blackout may occur without warning and before the diver feels any urgent need to breathe.

i dont want to be found either , the last few weeks ive been taking all my possession to the tip ,amazing how much crap you amass after living in the same house for 21 years , to stop people worrying or looking for me im going to sell my house to one of those rip off companies "we buy any house for cash in 7 days " if i[/m lucky i might get a few grand cash that ill draw out and close account , so there is no trace of me left and then try and find somewhere so secluded no one will find my remains for years , a bit hard in the UK , wish i lived in america , it`s huge lol

When I was 7 i slipped in the pool and they took some like half a minute to pick me up, it felt absolutely horrible. It's nowhere near like peacefully passing out.

So weird, I was thinking about this last night -- a few years ago I almost drowned in the ocean unintentionally and it was absolutely terrifying. I still don't understand how I managed to survive that experience other than adrenaline, but of course last night I was wishing I had drowned. It was scary, I don't know if you want to make your last moments that scary. But - very easy, even if you're a good swimmer. The ocean dgaf. Especially with a current.

In high school a guy friend's dad died drowning, years later someone told me that it was an intentional drowning. I'm not sure, but our friend killed himself in his 20s so it's possible that's how his dad died too.

After i read About how Virginia Woolf passed away , i also thought About drowning myself . (she did put some heavy rocks and Stones in her coat and then apparently went into a lake). I also thought About investing some Money in a cruise ship. Here in Germany there recently was a guy who is / was a bit famous - Daniel Küblböck - . He was /is a singer (nobody knows if he still alive). His Story in short is that later in his life he felt like he wanted to be a Woman and he got on a certain Hormon treatment. his Father said he then had a psychosis and he didnt want him to take a journey on the cruise lin, but he still took the journey. he then apparently just jumped in the early morning Hours from the ship into the Cold water (somewhere around canada)… although they searched for him everywhere they never found him….
so that could be a good Option if you never want to be found?
but as you are from norway, why dont you consider Jumping from a high cliff like preikestolen? in fact i am considering Jumping from a high cliff like that, since when you find the high spot it is most likely to be lethal.. and you can enjoy a beautiful view before
Actually concerning the drowning method i also wanted to say that i once knew a doctor (i was still a kid back then) and his wife took his life while drowning… somebody later told me that she was on a vacation with her daughter close by the Ocean in some Tropical Country. she then took a lot of alcohol and sleeping pills and went for a swim at night… she never came back.... the horryifing Thing was that her daughter later had to go to mental Hospital cause she couldnt stop blaming herself… so although that method was quite effective, she should have thought of her daughter… in my eyes it Always sounded so romantic to just drown into the Ocean, but i think the process itself can be quite painful, unless somebody knocks you on your head beforehand to make you unconcious or you manage to make yourself unconcious with some drugs or whatever…

If you get far enough from shore, you won't have to drown yourself. The sea will take you with or without your consent.

I saw documentary where a schizohrenic dad did it. His daughter used to take him to walk on a pier and one day he jumped in the water. She said he turned so he faced her smiled, and you know how if you are trying to stay above water, you paddle downward against the water?
He did the opposite, lowered his arms then pushed/extended his arms upward to propel his body down under the surface. I guess dead before anyone could pull him out, he must have inhaled as he went under.
I don't know any more details, it was an old pbs documentary interviewing people about mental illness.

I thought i was going to drown once , when i had a life , i dove off a boat champagne diving in the Blue lagoon somewhere off Greece , no realising how deep you actually go when you dive off a tall boat , halfway swimming back to the surface i ran out of breath and though i wasn't going to make it , it`s a horrible feeling
