i want the highest chance of success possible. So i was curious if either Hanging or Strangling is more effective and if it depends on setup then its about a regular household or outside with a good amount of trees.

As a wild guess on my part, I would think hanging would be quicker and painless, as strangling sounds more painful as you're fighting for your life(think of the movie where someone is strangling someone). Either way you do it, your SI will kick in and your body will be fighting for it's life.

alright, thank you for your advice. I appreciate it a lot. Is there any specific setups for hanging that are more effective than others?

Hanging is very successful. The key point is your setup.

how would you recommend i set it up? i want the maximum chance of it working, so even if its painful i don't mind.

Evelyne has a complete guide about how to hang yourself. She discusses anchor point, type of rope, knot,...

Strangling is, technically, neck compression by an external force. So hanging is strangling, cutting off the air supply by constricting the trachea.
Strangulation is cutting off the blood supply to the brain by compression of the arteries at the sides of the neck.
As anyone who has trained to any reasonable degree in Ju-Jitsu or Judo knows, an effective "choke hold" involving compression to the sides of the neck attacking the common carotid arteries can induce unconciousness in a few seconds, death very quickly afterwards. The danger of course being that if you survive there is a real possibility of brain damage, depending on how long the brain suffered oxygen deprivation.
This compression of the arteries should be borne in mind when placing the rope around the neck.
