Discussion Is hanging anyone's preferred CTB method?

The thought of hanging really terrifies me. But, taking some poison or drug seems very viable to me. I have always believed that for one to hang themselves, it has to be to escape from immense, immense pain.

It's about the only option I have available that doesn't sound too terrifying or violent. I find jumping or getting hit by a train even worse.

It's my method of choice. If done properly it should not hurt too much and low risk of botched attempt.

indeed, it's hard to get SN in my country, not even speaking about N. Guns are allowed to be used only by the police and the military.

I've had an attempt with full back in september but I gave up cause I started to feel nauseous. But now I'm in a very tight situation and if nothing changes by spring 2022 I'll have to do it whether I'll be coward or not.

I would have an easy access to SN in my country. However all these preparations, the additional drugs which must be taken before precisely within time frame make me scared. And the effect of SN comes in few minutes after intake. I am not sure if I would be enough strong to bear it.

Well...I am not sure. Maybe I'm wrong but hanging seems very simple and quick. And no way back or time to call for rescue. But I respect any other choice.

Fair enough I don't anything about SN or hanging to tbh. I hope you find peace with whatever you choose.

I think I heard somewhere that hanging is the most common suicide method. Of course it is not my preferred but it is the most accessible method for me. I am worried about it failing but of course many people have succeeded, I think if someone has knowledge of the method and it is planned, it is therefore more likely to succeed. My preferred method would be N, but the society cruelly denies us the option of a peaceful death.

Hanging is mine. Having done it before partially it's true that you black out relatively quickly. I would buy SN but the regime is way too much for me, when all I need to hang is a power cord and a ladder. If I had the money I would buy a gun, but unfortunately I do not.

Im not good with chemicals and all the threads I see every day with people asking all sorts of a variety of different questions I know people have been successful with it but it scares the hell out of me. Also I have no way to afford it and I think hanging has been my method for years ive made nooses on and off ive thrown them around my neck plenty and when I finally started practicing partial once I found the right spot I realized how easy it is for me to go

Full suspensin hanging is a top two option for me due to its reliability, but partial is very unreliable.

Full suspension hanging is my method of choice. I will get easily what I need and if carefully planned, a quick and painless death is guaranteed. The good ting about hanging is, that you can test the effects of hanging without dying. If you know what awaits you, the fear of the process of dying disappears. I guess no other method will offer this opportunity. Drugs like N are not an option for me, I would not use it If had it.

It does amaze me when people say that they can't find any means to ctb when almost anyone can get a rope- full suspension is very reliable if not discovered and pulled down early- it can be scary because there is not a guarantee of passing out quickly, though it seems likely if done right.

Full suspension is in my top three, it would likely be my number one method of choice if I had a viable place to perform it in my house.

It's a method I've attempted with and come close to succeeding previously. It wasn't overly pleasent, not terrible either. Since I have experience I would feel comfortable enough to use it again.

It's my method. I like how it appears terrifying to people; my whole life was agony, it's only fair my death doesn't look peaceful to others. Second reason is that the idea of taking poison and waiting for it to kick in is terrifying to me, because I don't want to have time to think "oh wow, I'm going to die" and come up with possible reasons I wouldn't want to die in my head, or think about my family etc. I want to think "oh wow, I'm going to die" and have like 15 seconds of panic, then complete peace. Oh, also, poison is considered a very common form of suicide for women. I don't want to contribute to that statistic.

My top two choices are full suspension and SN. When SN goers well it is a lot more peaceful, but full suspesion seems more reliable. However, reliability betwen the two methods may be close in a place where someone could hear if either method is too noisy- so I haven't decided yet. I'm still hoping to be struck by lightning.

Strangely enough I once feared hanging myself. But now I just don't care anymore. The amount of pain involved is far less of a concern to me, then the speed and certainty of the method involved.

My own *personal* rule of thumb: If your fear of pain is still alive, then your love of life is, too.

I agree than the speed and certainty are much more important because people are trying to avoid tears more of pain, so a much shorter time of pain should b e a good trade-off.
