The question you should answer yourself first, before posting such pool is: "Which god?" Because humanity spawned many divine beings over the course of it's history and many belief systems associated with them. Like, do i believe in ANY divine presence at all? Or some SPECIFIC superior entity or belief system?

Personally, i do not deal with beliefs because those require trust - you need to trust aka believe in sth someone told you without showing you any tangible proof and i don't have that. There are things i think i know, things i do not know and some i suspect might be true but do not have satisfying proof yet.

Ehh, debatable. There's plenty of imperfect creatures and things on Earth. I believe our existence is just based off luck. The number of galaxies and stars in each one of them is beyond our imagination. We fear the facts, we fear that we are all alone in this universe. That's why people started making up purposes for their existence. Some of those people resorted to worshipping the sun. Look at them now, try to go back in time and convince them that their Sun God will cease to exist in the next 5 billion years.

I have no hatred towards those who believe in a God. To me I just see it as coping and that is perfectly fine for anyone to do as long as it brings peace to their minds and it doesn't harm anyone around them. I only hate my religious dad. He's the type of religious person to kill his entire family if he saw a dream of God coming up to him and telling him to do it.

No, no such thing as religion, to me existence will always be the most terrible dreadful mistake that just causes all this harm and suffering and there could never be any point to any of this, it's all completely futile, existing is just dreadful, futile suffering with no limit as to how much one can be tortured. I'll always see the existence of life as the most terrible, devastating tragedy, I'll always see existence as the problem, to suffer in this existence is always an abomination to me and I'd only be glad to never suffer again, non-existence is just all I see as positive, all I want is true permanent peace from the terrible torture and pain of existing.

I don't believe in God or any similar entity. Even if God exists, I wouldn't care either way, not to mention there are not really any proof God exist. But then if God exist, what does God do, make the universe? Create a bunch of science theories? Write script of the universe? Travel from Earth to alien's planet to make aliens? I find it funny just thinking what God would do if God exist, if so then God ain't got time for human not to say 8 billion in this world

it's too painful to live but I'm too afraid to die

A few weeks ago I just ripped my cross off my neck and threw it in the trash. It was something I bought for myself about 10 years ago on a trip to Colorado, so it had some sentimental value to me. Now it's in a landfill somewhere.

I have tried going to churches. This seems to only work for extroverts who are looking to make new connections and are already religious. I felt no sense of belonging as someone who has struggled immensely with my spirituality and mental health for over a decade, and is very introverted.

Last week, I emailed the pastor of a church I'd been going to on and off for some time. We had talked before, both in-person and exchanged emails. I had told him I was interested in volunteering; they'd sent out a request for help with delivering a few dozen meals around the town every week.

I had a selfish reason for doing it, hoping I could put something on my resume that might help me eventually get a new job (I've been unemployed for several years and living with my mom despite efforts). But part of me also thought it'd be something God would want me to do, if He were real—I'm Christian if it wasn't clear. I thought volunteering is something good people do, and I could make an effort to be a good person and "get involved."

Well, to finally wrap up this story, he told me that so-and-so and so-and-so are just going to do it instead. Don't need my help.

I'm a spiritual person but God has never spoken to me, never helped me, never helped me make sense of why I'm fucking here just to suffer. And none of my efforts to "get to know Him" whether that be reading the Bible or going to churches or offering to volunteer have accomplished anything. At all.

He doesn't care about me. While it isn't as bad as it was when it first started a month ago, I still have some nerve pain in my lower back from helping my elderly mom carry bags of water softener salt into the basement. So I'm done. I think some sort of spiritual "god" entity exists but doesn't give a shit about me, anyone, or anything. Christianity caused me a lot of anxiety and feelings of judgment and fear of eternal damnation and everything else. I just want to die bro, I'm over it.

The thought of worshiping a God *forever*, a being who has not helped sort this absolutely wretched mess of existence on this planet, a being who is ultimately responsible for my dogwater life, is actually horrifying to me. An unending series of prayers and singing cringe songs praising him and all the rest, that all sounds like a narcissist's personal paradise.

I lean/ hope towards there being no God. We know that evolution over millions of years can create the kind of biodiversity we have on earth. I also prefer the idea that it was all formed via chance and survival of the fittest. That means again- that all the brutal, nasty and cruel things that happen have come about by chance. If a God exists- that means they were known about/ intended and not prevented. Which points to God being sadistic and callous (to my mind anyway.)

But- if all the stuff here always existed as a bunch of elements floating through space. It actually makes more sense- in my mind- that over a terrifically long time span- something was more likely to happen/ change than nothing. Why not this? If the conditions were right.

I don't see why it can't have all been formed via natural laws though- gravity, chemical reaction, combustion etc.

I was always crap at physics but then- black holes fascinate me. To my mind, I can imagine the big bang happening out of the result of a black hole becoming so condensed at its core- that it exploded. But then, there seems to be debate over that. I don't think there needs to be a bearded man for all that to happen though.

I also think we are both a developed enough species- that desperately wants to understand the world. As well as a massively insecure species- because we realise we are mortal. So- religion appeals because it gives us meaning, security and comfort.

I also think that the rulers back in the day- were smart. They knew that the masses far outnumbered them. They knew that they would need to be controlled so that chaos didn't reign. Religion parallels law as an incredible tool for reigning in human kind's animalistic desires. As in- it's not good form to go around stealing, adultering and murdering people. I can well see how religion has been created to give humans a sense of security, community but, also to control them.

Ultimately though- I would need an: 'I don't know' option to vote in the poll. Because- I really don't know for sure. I wish I did. I wish we all did. It would have prevented so many wars if we all knew one way or another- if there is a God and which one it is.

Still, the universe is still very mysterious. Mysterious things happen. Maybe there is a God behind that. Who knows? If- for whatever reason- they don't wish to be found at the moment- they presumably have the power to hide too- possibly forever. So- who can know for sure?

Yeah- exactly this. Dinosaurs existed for 165 to 180 million years- apparently. Compare that to 300,000 years for modern humans. Dinosaurs were here 500 times longer than humans (so far.) All according to Google by the way. I didn't fact check any of that. But still- I've widely seen it said that modern humans existence only represents 2% of the earth's age.

If humans are truly God's prefered species- why did 'he' bother with the dinosaurs for so long? Why wait so long to inhabit the planet with us? Maybe because God doesn't care much about time or, experiences time differently- perhaps. Why wipe out the dinosaurs though? Was God bored with them? That's pretty cruel.

Still- if worship and adoration is so important to God- why isn't there evidence of the dinosaurs worshipping 'him'. Why wasn't there a dinosaur version of Jesus? I'd love to see that. A dinosaur Jesus telling the carnivours to: 'Love thy neighbour.'

I will never understand how some god creating the universe with all it's laws is more natural for people than universe just existing without any cause and meaning. Also if there are laws of physics then they can't be broken because they are laws and there can't be any way that there is some god that change how things go and make moral rules and answer to prayers. If they say god created the universe, then who created god? No one? Then why the fuck can't it be the scenario for our universe to not be created by anyone??
