I'm confused because some posts here are saying that any SN is fine as long as it's 99% purity, but some are also saying that food grade is below 99% and won't kill you. I found one that's food grade and the description says 99% purity. Is that real or are all food grade SN below 99%? And if it's legit, will it work?
Purity is what you want. The grade does not matter. Some people are saying it will not work possibly because "food ready" SN is sold at 6% which will definitely not work.
However, if your package says 95%+ then you are good to go.

Depends, does it come in a container and in the container it says 95+% purity. Then you also have to check the brand, if it's not a well known brand better do an aquarium strip test. Usually laboratory grade SN are the ones with high purity, if you can buy lab SN buy lab SN. If it doesn't come in a container just repackage or plastic packaging, it's better to always do aquarium strip test. You can't blindly trust the seller this is your CTB method after all
