Climate change and climate emergencies have been in the news non-stop this summer, and it's making my suicidal ideation greater. It's so stressful I don't want to live on a planet that's dealing with all of this, and the people who actually have the ability to change things aren't doing anything.
Anyone else feel the same way?

The more i hear about climate change, the less i believe in it. You said it yourself, it's been on the news 24/7, and who owns the medias if not people who can profit from it ?

Governments try hard to push the narrative, yet they don't do anything or do the exact opposite of what they tell us to do in order to solve the problem; why else would they act like it's a nothing burger if it was, as they claim, such an emergency ?

They still travel with private jets and big-ass yachts. They still let big corporations polute the hell out of the earth. They still buy huge mansions near the ocean where they claimed the levels would go up to the top of the statue of Liberty.

It's nothing but a scam only the 0,01% profit from and allows governments to take away our freedoms little by little.

The emergency is not climate change but corruption, and because without corruption to allow the biggest companies in the world to take our money and governments to take our freedoms from us, fake narratives have to take place in our society to rule us by fear in order to shift our focus on subjects that not only don't have solutions but where there can't be proven the origin of the matter with certainty and will always be open to debate (if censorship doesn't take place exactly when people suddenly wake up).

The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence whatever that it is not utterly absurd and the fact that a belief has a good moral effect upon us is no evidence whatsoever in favor of its truth.

It depresses me, too. At the same time, I want our parasitic, monstrous species to go extinct. But I feel for people whose daily lives are already impacted by climate change and whose suffering is ignored or denied by the corporations that cause it.

No i don't give a shit personally and i even think that it's nowhere near as serious and true as they try to make it sound.
If you listen to the news all day you would think that apocalypse is imminent, and when you stop watching the news you realize nothing happens and your life is the same everyday.

Since my birth the summers were always the same, but every summer we hear that it's the "hottest summer".

Just recently the alien thing, i guarantee you everyone will forget about it in 2 weeks and it will never affect you during your lifetime.

I just don't understand why we have to destroy the one rock we are living on it just makes me resent humans even more than I already do. Its just depressing that it keeps getting worse, and how pro-lifer are like "things will get better", when the people in power don't give a shit. I just hate we have to live in a world like this.

I mean it is what it is. You have the deniers and it will be fun to watch them freak out when the effects become more and more apparent. I'll get some enjoyment out of that. But the fact is, the people that have the power to do anything about it, don't want to because money and because they won't be the ones to feel the most serious consequences of it.

It's ultimately a symptom of the darker side of humanity, and that part I despise. Everyone's just playing their little part in making this place worse.
Personally I think there are far worse things happening on this planet than climate change, so I don't think about it too much

Sorry but not sorry. You (and i) should be a thousand times more depressed and concerned about something that is 100% proven to be true and that we could really do something about, like pedophilia, child abuse, human trafficking, slavery (which btw is much worse now than it has ever been in human history), animal abuse and poverty... all of which are allowed to happen mainly because of corruption and greed.

As far as i know, climate change can be proven and disproven with all the charts and statistics we want; nobody will be right or wrong on the subject, because it's taylored that way. It's meant to be an eternal matter of arguing, like religion, and it's meant to drive emotions instead of reason.

You're free to choose what matters the most to you, something that is supposed to doom humanity and kill everyone all at once when it's too late, or things that are 100% making innocent people suffer meanwhile, while you are focused on what's (allegedly) green and what's not.

I'm fine with people who care enough to save the sea turtles, the whales and the endangered species; i'm fine with people who plant trees and recycle, who try their best to fight polution, that's not the problem.
The problem is the few who rule the world lie, steal, start wars, manipulate people with the help of the medias they bought, make money from the poors and use them, traffic, kill and rape, and use their power to never be held accountable. Why would we even trust them and be scared since they're the only ones profiting from fear ?

Yeah, climate change is also a factor as to why i have a huge urge to ctb, i really can't see myself living in such a polluted world on top of constantly being surrounded by pro-lifers who will do anything to force you to stay alive. I also hate how companies and governmental officials who have adequate power to change things do nothing and just go through the motions, having charity things set up and im pretty sure most of the money earned from those gets spent on their own useless things. I don't think this world is fixable, at this point. All i see now is humanity being a catalyst to its own destruction, which will happen very soon, considering how the way things are looking at present. Society has destroyed me and now its their turn to destroy themselves.

Nope. For that you'd need to care about the future and I don't think many are looking to the future here. Bring on the sun I say.

Sorry but not sorry.

You don't have to. It wasn't about you personnaly. It was about how this is too abstract for most people to grasp or even believe.

Climate change is proven and could be mitigated to some extent, just like the other stuff you mentioned which are completely off-topic btw.

As far as i know, climate change can be proven and disproven with all the charts and statistics we want; nobody will be right or wrong on the subject, because it's taylored that way. It's meant to be an eternal matter of arguing, like religion, and it's meant to drive emotions instead of reason.

No.

You don't have to "choose" (false dilemma). Also climate change will make innocent people suffer. A lot. It already does.

I'm fine with people who care enough to save the sea turtles, the whales and the endangered species; i'm fine with people who plant trees and recycle, who try their best to fight polution, that's not the problem.

Off-topic. You don't have to trust any of these alledged "few people who rule the world" to prove that climate change exists and is bad.

Anyways, I've seen this kind of nonsensical "reasoning" in so many conspiracy theories that I don't think we are going anywhere. I hope for humanity that you're right and that me and all the scientists are wrong.

I don't care at all. I don't doubt it and I don't necessarily think it's being exaggerated, it is a very important topic, if you care about the long term safety of the planet. Tbh humans fucked the earth, now it's time for us to get fucked by earth. The universe is better off without humans anyways, if all humans would just die. That would solve everything

Since my birth the summers were always the same, but every summer we hear that it's the "hottest summer".
Summers are about 5º (sometimes closer to 10º) hotter on average than they were when I was a kid. They're definitely and quantifiably getting hotter.

we used to have snow every winter as a guarantee in Denmark, even times of heavy snow..
Now we just get a small amount of snow for a short while, if even at all. It's definitely noticeable.

No, not at all. Like others here have said, I do not see why I should burden myself with worry over this too when I have so many other, more personal problems and worries.

I do not feel like a participant of this world and I do not feel like I have a future with it anyhow.
