I have a concrete example. Could SaSu members from Russia and Ukraine be friends on here?
Probably not all. And probably it depends on the views. I could imagine the average Russian is more scepctical of the Ukraine war than he admits in real life.
I wonder whether the suffering of members on here is also uniting us. And we are able to look beyond political conflcts or different cleavages.
Global affairs are really concerning. And another war in Europe becomes more likely. I think SaSu is availabe even in some authoritarian countries. The politics section is heated but it doesn't spread fake news as much as on X I would claim. The hybride war tactics of Russia are scary to me. The AfD's relation to Russia is also scary.
I think I posted some threads that were crticial of Russians who are complicit with Putin's regime. But others told me that one has to consider their circumstances.
I have the feeling suffering is universal. The people at the bottom of the society don't profit from war usually. We are the primary targets. Maybe this insight could bring peace among us even though are countries act at war.
