"God likes to play hide-and-seek, but because there is nothing outside of God, he has no one but himself to play with!
But he gets over this difficulty by pretending that he is not himself. This is his way of hiding from himself.
He pretends that he is you and I and all the people in the world, all the animals, plants, all the rocks, and all the stars.
In this way he has strange and wonderful adventures, some of which are terrible and frightening.
But these are just like bad dreams, for when he wakes up they will disappear.

Now when God plays "hide" and pretends that he is you and I, he does it so well that it takes him a long time to remember where and how he hid himself!
But that's the whole fun of it-just what he wanted to do. He doesn't want to find himself too quickly, for that would spoil the game.
That is why it is so difficult for you and me to find out that we are God in disguise, pretending not to be himself. But- when the game has gone on long enough,
all of us will WAKE UP, stop pretending, and REMEMBER that we are all one single Self- the God who is all that there is and who lives forever and ever.

Alan Watts, The Book

"Irrevocable commitment to any religion is not only intellectual suicide;
it is positive unfaith because it closes the mind to any new vision of the world.
Faith is, above all, openness - an act of trust in the unknown."
Alan Wilson Watts

"Peace can be made only by those who are peaceful, and love can be shown only by those who love.
No work of love will flourish out of guilt, fear, or hollowness of heart, just as no valid plans for the future
can be made by those who have no capacity for living now."
Alan Wilson Watts

"Just as true humor is laughter at oneself, true humanity is knowledge of oneself."

Dwelling in the past is pointless.
Agreed. The past can't be visited, and neither can the future, there's only NOW!
And since the present moment is all there is, why fight with it?
If you can do something, why worry? If not, why worry?
Isn't it mindblowing how much unnecessary suffering we inflict on ourselves?

Thoughts are just thoughts. They're like trains leaving the station, one here, one there.
But You, awareness, never actually leave the station! Only if you give your power away to an unquestioned mind.

Luckily we all have a built-in guidance system reminding us whenever we are doing so.
To consult with it, simply ask yourself how you're feeling right now. There are only two possibilities: love or fear.

All the answers are inside us, we simply need to become quiet enough to hear them. 🙏💚

"My own understanding is that people who commit suicide are the most sensitive people in the world, very intelligent.
Because of their sensitivity, because of their intelligence, they find it difficult to cope with this neurotic world.

In this neurotic world, if you are sane, sensitive, intelligent, either you have to go mad, or you have to commit suicide –
or you have to become a
sannyasin, a meditator, a seeker. What else is there?

People commit suicide because they are feeling stuck and they don't see any way out.

Intelligence means seeing deeply into things. Has your life any point? Has your life any joy? Has your life any poetry in it?
Has your life any creativity in it? Do you feel grateful that you are here? Do you feel grateful that you were born?
Can you thank existence? Can you say with your whole heart that it is a blessing?

It is a very, very natural idea when you are intelligent. Intelligent people commit suicide.
And those who are even more intelligent than the intelligent people take
sannyas.
They start creating a meaning, they start creating a significance, they start living. Why miss this opportunity?

He who has so confronted his death is stabbed awake thereby. He perceives himself now as an individual distinct from the mass,
and is prepared to take over responsibility for his own life. In this way, we decide for authentic against inauthentic existence.
We emerge from the mass and become ourselves at last.

Remember, I am not saying that you should go and commit suicide. I am saying that your life, as it is, is leading you towards suicide. Change it.
And contemplate death. It can come any moment, so don't think that it is morbid to think about death.

Suffering is created by ideas which don't go with reality; bliss is created when you have ideas which go with reality.
Bliss is a coherence between you and the truth; suffering is a dichotomy, a division between you and the truth.
When you are not moving with truth you are in hell; when you are moving with truth you are in heaven – that's all.
And that is the whole thing to be understood."

"You are the sky. Everything else – it's just the weather."
Pema Chödrön

"The most fundamental aggression to ourselves, the most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves,
is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently."
Pema Chödrön

"The only reason we don't open our hearts and minds to other people is that they trigger confusion in us that we don't feel brave enough or sane enough to deal with.
To the degree that we look clearly and compassionately at ourselves, we feel confident and fearless about looking into someone else's eyes. "
Pema Chodron

"Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals.
Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others.
Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity."
Pema Chödrön

"If we learn to open our hearts, anyone, including the people who drive us crazy, can be our teacher."
Pema Chodron

"Fear is a natural reaction to moving closer to the truth"
Pema Chodron,

"…feelings like disappointment, embarrassment, irritation, resentment, anger, jealousy, and fear, instead of being bad news,
are actually very clear moments that teach us where it is that we're holding back. They teach us to perk up and lean in when we feel we'd rather collapse and back away.
They're like messengers that show us, with terrifying clarity, exactly where we're stuck. This very moment is the perfect teacher, and, lucky for us, it's with us wherever we are."
Pema Chödrön

"The most difficult times for many of us are the ones we give ourselves."
Pema Chodron

"If someone comes along and shoots an arrow into your heart, it's fruitless to stand there and yell at the person.
It would be much better to turn your attention to the fact that there's an arrow in your heart..."
Pema Chödrön

"We think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don't really get solved. They come together and they fall apart.
Then they come together again and fall apart again. It's just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy."
Pema Chödrön

"To be fully alive, fully human, and completely awake is to be continually thrown out of the nest.
To live fully is to be always in no-man's-land, to experience each moment as completely new and fresh.
To live is to be willing to die over and over again. "
Pema Chödrön

"nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know
…nothing ever really attacks us except our own confusion.

"If you are seeking, seek us with joy, for we live in the kingdom of joy.
Do not give your heart to anything else but to the love of those who are clear joy, do not stray into the neighborhood of despair.
For there are hopes: they are real, they exist — do not go in the direction of darkness — I tell you: SUNS EXIST!!!"

"Instead of resisting to changes, surrender. Let life be with you, not against you.
If you think 'My life will be upside down' don't worry. How do you know down is not better than upside?"
Shams Of Tabriz

"A life without love is of no account. Don't ask yourself what kind of love you should seek, spiritual or material, divine or mundane, eastern or western…
divisions only lead to more divisions. Love has no labels, no definitions. It is what it is, pure and simple. Love is the water of life. And a lover is a soul of fire!
The universe turns differently when fire loves water."
Shams Of Tabriz

"Don't search for heaven and hell in the future. Both are now present.
Whenever we manage to love without expectations, calculations, negotiations, we are indeed in heaven.
Whenever we fight, hate, we are in hell."
Shams Tabrizi

"This world is like a mountain.
Your echo depends on you.
If you scream good things,
the world will give it back.
If you scream bad things,
the world will give it back.
Even if someone says badly about you,
speak well about him.
Change your heart to change the world."

"A good man complains of no one; he does not look to faults."
Shams Of Tabriz

"Most of conflicts and tensions are due to language. Don't pay so much attention to the words.
In love's country, language doesn't have its place. Love's mute."
Shams Tabrizi

"Wherever you go, east, west, north or south, think of it as a journey into yourself! The one who travels into itself travels the world."

"When everyone is trying to be something, be nothing. Range with emptiness.
Human should be like a pot. As the pot is held by its emptiness inside, human is held by the awareness of his nothingness."
Shams Tabrizi

"No matter what people call you, you are just who you are. Keep to this truth. You must ask yourself how is it you want to live your life. We live and we die, this is the truth that we can only face alone. No one can help us. So consider carefully, what prevents you from living the way you want to live your life?"

"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."
Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning

"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."
Viktor E. Frankl

"Those who have a 'why' to live, can bear with almost any 'how'."
Viktor E. Frankl

"Don't aim at success. The more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one's personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one's surrender to a person other than oneself. Happiness must happen, and the same holds for success: you have to let it happen by not caring about it. I want you to listen to what your conscience commands you to do and go on to carry it out to the best of your knowledge. Then you will live to see that in the long-run—in the long-run, I say!—success will follow you precisely because you had forgotten to think about it"
Viktor E. Frankl

"But there was no need to be ashamed of tears, for tears bore witness that a man had the greatest of courage, the courage to suffer."
Viktor E. Frankl

"Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is, but rather must recognize that it is he who is asked. In a word, each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life; to life, he can only respond by being responsible."
Viktor E. Frankl

"In some ways, suffering ceases to be suffering at the moment it finds a meaning, such as the meaning of a sacrifice."
Viktor E. Frankl

"What is to give light must endure burning."
Victor Frankl

"No man should judge unless he asks himself in absolute honesty whether, in a similar situation, he might not have done the same."
Viktor Emil Frankl

"So live as if you were living already for the second time and as if you had acted the first time as wrongly as you are about to act now!"
Viktor E. Frankl

"Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose."
Victor Frankl

"Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
Viktor E. Frankl

"A man who becomes conscious of the responsibility he bears toward a human being who affectionately waits for him, or to an unfinished work, will never be able to throw away his life. He knows the "why" for his existence, and will be able to bear almost any "how"."

"It isn't normal to know what we want. It is a rare and difficult psychological achievement."
Abraham Harold Maslow

"One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again."
Abraham Maslow

"A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be"
Abraham Maslow

"What is necessary to change a person is to change his awareness of himself."
Abraham Maslow

"Be independent of the good opinion of other people."
Abraham Maslow

"If you plan on being anything less than you are capable of being, you will probably be unhappy all the days of your life."
Abraham Maslow

"Let people realize clearly that every time they threaten someone or humiliate or unnecessarily hurt or dominate or reject another human being, they become forces for the creation of psychopathology, even if these be small forces. Let them recognize that every person who is kind, helpful, decent, psychologically democratic, affectionate, and warm, is a psychotherapeutic force, even though a small one."
Abraham H. Maslow

"Life is an ongoing process of choosing between safety (out of fear and need for defense) and risk (for the sake of progress and growth). Make the growth choice a dozen times a day."
Abraham Maslow

"The sacred is in the ordinary...it is to be found in one's daily life, in one's neighbors, friends, and family, in one's own backyard...travel may be a flight from confronting the scared--this lesson can be easily lost. To be looking elsewhere for miracles is to me a sure sign of ignorance that everything is miraculous."
Abraham Maslow

"What one can be, one must be!"
Abraham H. Maslow

"If the essential core of the person is denied or suppressed, he gets sick sometimes in obvious ways, sometimes in subtle ways, sometimes immediately, sometimes later."
Abraham Maslow

"The most fortunate are those who have a wonderful capacity to appreciate again and again, freshly and naively, the basic goods of life, with awe, pleasure, wonder and even ecstasy."
Abraham Maslow

"Self-actualized people...live more in the real world of nature than in the man-made mass of concepts, abstractions, expectations, beliefs and stereotypes that most people confuse with the world."
Abraham Maslow, Hierarchy of Needs

"It looks as if there were a single ultimate goal for mankind, a far goal toward which all persons strive. This is called variously by different authors self-actualization, self-realization, integration, psychological health, individuation, autonomy, creativity, productivity, but they all agree that this amounts to realizing the potentialities of the person, that is to say, becoming fully human, everything that person can be."
Abraham Maslow

Love is the 'glue' of the universe. It can be compared with water that penetrates all living things.
As long as water or love is there, it keeps plants and beings alive and in their shape.
If you take the water or love out, everything will wither and die.
Love keeps the atoms together on the micro-level and the galaxies in their beautiful shape on the macro-level.

~ White Tara ~

The sea of love is absolute love. It is very still, an absolute letting be, giving space, and allowing being.
It is goodness without distinction. This is why it is called the sea of love - it is like the ocean: endless, embracing, and all-allowing.
The sea of love on its own is not an intentional act of healing - it does not want to change anything. It is sheer benevolent acceptance.

In meditation, you come nearest to a pure experience of the sear of love in a state of absolute stillness. The breath stops and all movements of the body and mind stop. however, this state is always temporary because the sea of love only ever exists in conjunction with the blissful life force.

Most people do not like the sea of love on its own very much because it feels a bit empty and deadening. It needs to be balanced with the blissful life force.
The highest state of mind is a state that unites both the life force in its virgin state, which is bliss, as well as the sea of love in perfect balance.
