Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

That's it that's the post.

No long term meds exist so you either have to follow a rigid set of lifestyle-related rules, self medicate to hell and back or just suffer.

I agree. I hate it. Can't sleep and I'm doing my best but it's not enough.

Yep yep. Each time I talk to a doctor about it, they ask me if I have tried medication, and I am always like, "Oh, you mean the highly addictive, habit forming ones that I could not take for so long or else they screwed me up permanently? Yeah, no, I just go with not sleeping."

Being tired all the time absolutely sucks. On the other hand, I can be very productive in a day when I am awake for 20 hours.

Insomnia is awful, and my heart goes out to those who have to deal with it. Fortunately, I have partially recovered from it myself. Sadly, there is still a lack of public and medical awareness of the issue, and it is often downplayed. It really shows how much people take sleep for granted, until they are no longer able to sleep themselves. Hopefully, there will be more research into this.

As I was looking through this thread, I also came across this YouTube video. This is just ridiculous. Look at how long it takes this kitten to fall asleep.

high dose melatonin isn't highly addictive, so you can probably use it long term. It is somewhat risky though, in that continuous high dose usage isn't as well researched, meaning it could have unanticipated side effects (dependence is very unlikely to be one of those side effects).
For reference I use a little over 2 grams daily, plus Fluvoxamine (which increases bioavailability). If you take a standard dose like 5 mg it probably isn't gonna do much for your sleep
