• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

    👉 View the ledger here

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

welcome to the human zoo
best thing to do is wait it out into your discharged and free to go home before acting on a suicide plan

I just feel like I can't leave, so either being on general obs (1HR checks) or leave are my best options

It sucks but you should wait it out. 1 hour is a short window to be doing anything and you only risk lengthening your unwanted stay :(. You should ask for an IMHA. Maybe they can help you get out.

I've been here 2 weeks so far and haven't even got leave, which is why I'm thinking leave is my opportunity to run and do something. I feel ligaturing at the start of the 1HR period isn't the worst idea though…

Have you tried asking for an Independent Mental Health Advocate? PohWer is a good one. Although I don't know if they help everywhere in the UK. You really should try contacting them.

I can't stop you if you do choose to try ligature, but it probably won't end well if you calculate your odds.

I haven't looked into it it too much as I'm not sure what they could do, but I'll have a look thank you.

I just think 1hr is better than 15 mins of not being found :/

Just take the time to reflect on the mistakes that landed you there, it's foolishness to wind up in a psyche ward in this day and age. Outmoded institution. Good luck, I hope you all the best.

Be calm, friendly and cooperative. Don't say you "feel good" and want to go but pretend that the treatment is really helping you seeing things in a different way. Talk about plans you have in the future to make things better for you and also mention usual things in the future you are looking forward. (looking forward to [persons birthday]/book/videogame/movie that is released/going to a concert/sport event) Adapt these as needed and fitting for you. Mention hobbies or other "wholesome" things you enjoy in life, without being obnoxious about it. Don't diminish that you're still feeling depressed sometimes and be open about it. They'll feel eventually you are "stable" now and let you go, as these places are only for immediate crisis usually. Good luck.

In my experience and from things I've seen, these places couldn't care less if you offed yourself, they just don't want to be legally responsible for missing that this was a possibility. If you give them plausible deniability with your behavior, they have no reason to keep you.
