  • Hey Guest,

I'm seeing a psychiatrist again. I've been to neurologists, psychiatrists, even homeopathy I've tried since I was 13 years old. Every appointment with a new psychiatrist, or any other doctor is the same. They don't look at me, they keep typing what I'm feeling into their notebooks, prescribe me drugs that have fucked up my memory over the years and send me away. That's it. I thought this time would be different, I would find a psychiatrist who would treat me like a human being, I don't know. Have you ever been through this? It seems that no psychiatrist likes me. I just wanted to be comforted, damn it. Hearing from the doctor that I will be fine, even though I know I won't be, even though I know that in a few months I will ctb. I'm only seeing a psychiatrist again because of my family. They want it. Anyway, have you ever had a psychiatrist who cares about you?

I think a therapist may fit you better. I don't have an experience but I considered online mental heath services to get medication. I didn't proceed because I didn't feel comfortable

It's the same with a therapist. I checked my new psychiatrist's credentials or license and only found complaints about him on google about poor service. To make matters worse, I'm not finding his credentials. I have no luck with doctors, is the healthcare system that bad here or am I just unlucky? at least when i ctb i will be able to say i tried

My first psychiatrist seemed to really care about me. He gave me samples of my med for years cause I was poor and uninsured. He even let my girlfriend and I stay at his vacation cabin on a lake a couple times, jet ski and all.

More and more, I view psychiatry as a whole as being the business of anti-choicers. Often implicit in their ethos is the message that "dying isn't an option". Their atitude is typically that it's better to be alive but impaired by 100 side effects, than dead. So if they see that one of their patients is hesitant to try their latest silly gimmicky 'treatment', they might get a bit upset.

It's not a you thing, these people are scum. I suggest looking elsewhere. For example, I'm going to the odontologist to check whether I have respiratory issues while sleeping.

Also, welcome to the NHK was a masterpiece. 🔥

I think sometimes it takes a while to find a good doc. I would definitely say a therapist has been much better for me than a psychiatrist. It took a couple of tries, but I finally found a good fit with me. Someone I can trust and be mostly honest about my thoughts with.

I am seeing 3 different psychiatrists currently and 2 different therapists. I've seen a bunch more over the past few months. I agree with above suggestion to try "talk therapists" and keep looking until you find one you like. It's a zoom world now, so being in Brazil doesnt have to limit you. I see all mine remotely over zoom.
