I asked the AI again. It said yes and then no. Could anyone help? Thank you. In the case of apparent death diagnosed by doctors with Sn, I know that even though it's unlikely, I'm still afraid. If I'm left in a coma, vegetative, or minimally conscious state, would I feel pain during the autopsy? I know that sn could also damage the nervous system, but I don't know if I would feel pain if I were falsely declared dead in those states during the autopsy. I've seen cases of people in their failed attempts, being unconscious, didn't feel pain during medical procedures at the hospital. But I don't know if it would be the same in the case of an autopsy being falsely dead due to Sn in those states. I appreciate help, thanks💔

You're asking about an unlikely situation, with little available data. I think this is why AI can't really help you.
I'd argue that if you're falsely pronounced dead, and it have gone as far as the autopsy table without anyone noticing the error - then grave mistakes have been made, and you can't be sure of anything. So, yes, I think you could potentially feel pain, given the extraordinary premise.

I swear I mean this in the kindest way possible but I think you should take a hard break from talking to AI in this way. it's clearly distressing you and there really is no LIKELY way this would happen. emergency services do a lot of things to determine someone's state of being. legally, if what you're worried about happened, it would be a big deal and we would have heard about it in all the years of this site and others existence because it would be a massive lawsuit type deal. i'm sure there ARE cases (not saying sn but alive during autopsy) but we have better tech now.

also with the way sn works, assuming you're not interrupted for the needed hours and following protocol your body is highly unlikely to get to a veg state and stay there for a long length of time as it takes the oxygen out of your blood.

I wish there was a clear answer :(

Here's a survey of over a thousand European medical doctors in 2009 asked the question "Do you think that patients in a vegetative state can feel pain?" In as frustrating an outcome as possible, 56% of doctors said "yes", and 44% said "no". Here's a study from 2021 that describes pain perception in people with disorders of consciousness as "still a matter of debate." Oh, and here's a study from 2022 that says that pain and suffering in comas and minimally conscious states "remain poorly understood, frequently unaddressed or inadequately addressed, and controversial on numerous levels." All three sources distinguish between a "coma/vegetative state" and a "minimally conscious state", and all sources say that it's more likely (potentially much more likely?) to feel pain in a minimally conscious state than it is in a coma. The '21 and '22 studies include literature reviews, so if you want a full theoretical breakdown of all the arguments for and against pain perception while unconscious, I'd recommend reading them!

For what it's worth, on a personal note, I've been unconscious a few times before, and I have no memory of ever feeling pain during any of those spells. Hope this all helps, and wishing you a lot of care <3

Thank you so much ❤️‍🩹. AI scares me with autopsies, and the more I ask, the more scared I get. I should stop because it feeds my fear. That's what I believe, and I'm sure it's very lethal. I hope it leaves me dead. But I have very bad luck with everything, and it could only happen to me. 😰

Thank you so much for your information, darling. I'll read it right now. I don't think it's possible to know whether there's pain or not, since only the person would know; no one could actually determine it😰

sweet friend. unsubscribe or uninstall. get rid of it. we feed our own fears enough on our own. you don't deserve to be in the fear place this is taking you.

also I feel like if this was a factor, it would be mentioned in the PPH. the authors are/still are VERY thorough, and something like what you speak of would be absolutely included by the authors if there were documented cases specifically relating to sn.

the authors also have a podcast where they can speak on updated info etc. nothing like this has seemed to happen with sn. realistically if it was something that even theoretically could happen, it would have been spoken about by the ones spearheading the right to die movement. when the nitrogen execution in alabama US went poorly for the inmate, they talked very clearly about why. I don't see why this wouldn't be the same.

a lot of people have shit luck with a lot of things, but it doesn't magically make things that really aren't (seemingly) impossible, possible. it's cliche but step away and take a breath 🫂🫂🫂🫂 meant with care. no disrespect to your worries. I hear you.

A hug, friend. You're right, that's what I'm saying. I can't continue with this fear. I've been traumatized since I saw the autopsy video. And I started asking the AI the worst thing I've ever done. If autopsies existed in history when people were still alive, it would devastate me. Because of the undeserved suffering caused by a medical misdiagnosis. It would be negligence, but now those people will be souls free from that pain. Anyway, a hug, darling 😪🫶
