I'm on the road

I decided to get a head start on my drive. When I traveled between places for work before, I would ussually like to get there and get started early. I hope to be there two days ahead of schedule.

It is a 38 hour drive across the United States is what I am looking at ahead of me right now.

I snapped a picture. It is not much. I do not think I am very good at picture taking?

My first rest stop at 27 miles into the drive, Lol. Only approximately 2500 more miles to go. I had to get going though. I was ready. I will miss my sister and her and her family and the dogs, and it was getting sad to stay knowing I was going, so I just got going with it.

Thanks. I am temporarily relocating for an assignment. There is not much traffic on the roads like there used to be prior to the virus, and I have been fortunate to have a clear weather patter. I guess there was a bad ice storm the other day before I left, because there were a lot of cars and several tractor trailers crashed and pushed off to the sides of the roads sitting there all along the way waiting to be removed.

I have really been enjoying myself listening to music and having time to myself driving right now before everything gets started.

I will keep rolling for another two hours tonight, and be done with the first 1,000 miles of my trip.

Wow. I struggle with the 2.5 hours to visit my parents. I get to a point sometimes where I can hardly make my eyes focus.

I just pulled off for a minute. It is some intense driving right now and my attention needed a break.

It started snowing last night. The radio says freezing rain is ahead in the forecast. I got to keep going though, but will have to pull off the road if it gets too bad to drive.


The entrance ramp to the motorway this morning.

There is a lot of wind, a ton of it, so that is what I should be most cautious about as I go forward today. Plus, some icy spots.

Make sure to get enough sleep because there's nothing worse than falling asleep while driving and damaging your car.

I was once driving through Italy and just wanted to drive a couple of miles more, before parking my car somewhere and trying to sleep.
In the end, I drove my car to some wine field, broke my radiator and got stuck there : P All this because I decided to continue driving while being really tired

Be very careful with the road, you have a lot of experience but do not relax with the icy streets!
I love the photos of snowy landscapes, especially the last rest area, I imagine that with that thickness of snow you should not want to go deep into the trees but for me snow is a luxury, I envy you

Thank you. I will remember because you are right. If it ever comes to a point where I want to continue on and I even question it, I plan to stop. I really appreciate it and thank you again soo much, it means a lot!

It felt good again waking up today. I have to remember to feed myself though because I forgot.

I spent two hours interacting with The Agency after I woke up. I did not even know exactly where I am supposed to be going yet? Nobody knows... I am working six zones on the west coast is all I know at this point.

Our first meeting location is still undisclosed. I should hear back from my contact later today with the details. I am not totally sure, but according to the information I was given I should only be about 950 miles from my location.

A quick update. They secured the location for us, and I have the information.

Also, I had to pull off the road for these pictures and stretch. It is difficult to drive while taking pictures.

I finally made it beyond The Great Plains and this is what it looks like for me now.

The roads are clear today and the temperature is nice outside.

What is the wooden object in the center of your dash?

It was from a tree in my Mom's front yard when she was growing up that was struck by lightning. She painted this piece of it. She was just a little girl.

Everything I packed has been eaten and I am hungry, so I am stopping somewhere to eat for a little while, as soon as I find it.
