Im i overestimating the power of drugs?

People here often completely exclude some methods because they would be too painful, uncomfortable, or SI-causing, but wouldn't these concerns be pretty easily negated by drugs?

For example, if I took strong benzos and opioids such as 2mg of xanax and 30mg of oxycodone with zero tolerance and then tried to stab or cut my jugular/carotid veins, would that still hurt and cause panic?

So can someone with experience with these drugs give me some insight?

Either people here seem to give up too quickly on these methods or they just know something that I don't.

Cutting yourself is essentially never a good way to CTB even if there is little to no pain involved. It simply is not effective, its messy and the results of failing are horrendous.

i mean, drugs can make you unaware of what is happening around you but still, i dont think its a good idea to take them to lessen the pain of cutting. cutting is never a good method.

in order for you not to care about the act of chopping yourself up you basically have to be so zoned out that you are on the verge of losing consciousness. so you are likely to mess up (fail)

I think you'd have to be on a drug like PCP to not even be aware of what you're doing. Even taking benzos and opioids, you'd still very much feel the pain from cutting.

This is so disappointing. When I was younger, I always thought about slitting my wrists or ODing on random meds. It might be possible in the perfect circumstances, but apparently it is a long shot enough of the time that I don't want to try it and end up in a psych unit (or medical unit from non-lethal damage), as has happened to many people. But that's a decision for each of us to make for ourselves.

It seems like people who are not trying to ctb die all the time from accidental overdoses or combinations that potentiate lethal effects. I wish it were easier to do it intentionally.
