I've told friends about how bad I am. They sent a few links in hopes that I'd be helped. I went to the Trevor project. The only recommendation the counselor could give was to go to an LGBT+ support group. Tried that. They said I ether get out of my situation as fast as possible or consider my mental health terminal.

That's some advice......
I'm not a counsellor or anything but if you feel bad and can't find any suitable support, talk to someone you trust or make a "vent diary"( basically writing your vents and thoughts in the diary, writing them can clear your head) .
Also, your friends seem to care about you, maybe spend time with them too. I don't think that bad mental health is terminal if you get the right help. I hope you get better
