Vault of Memories

A temporary being in a temporary world

Before coming into this site and seeing how many posts there are about people "testing" it out and explaining the feeling. Followed by more knowledge members telling them what could be wrong or if that feeling they're receiving is what they're supposed to be feeling.

I had considered hanging before in the past. Was never one of my top choices, but the equipment is easy to obtain, cheap, and you can find out how to tie the knot anywhere on the internet. I wonder how many people I've heard about around my area had practiced and same with all the celebrities that took the midnight train via hanging. Of course I know to check to make sure the anchor can hold my weight, figure that's common sense, but It glad I never used that method during my attempt, because my biggest fear from an attempt is ending up with brain damage and having an even worse life and being an even bigger burden than I already feel I am to the world.

I know I can't be the only one on here that thought going by hanging was a lot simpler than it appears to be?

Every method has risks, some bigger risks than other.

Best not to ctb.
If it's actually last resort, best to stick to the reliable methods.

In my opinion hanging is one of the top 3 methods. For me at least.

True. Many people see films, videos and they think that they can just take the rope and that's it.
I tried night-night many times with bare hands, just to check what happens, however, never had an effect which has to be.
Yes, this is not my method, however, my morbid curiosity has no limits.
It is very important to practice. Peacefulness, speed and technique depends on the amount of practice. Except for long drop of course which can be done only once.

Has anyone on this forum ever had that as his method?

This was a good thread on it: https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/how-to-hang-yourself.1183/

Also, I'd get a belt and drill a hole about one to two inch in from where it felt tight on my neck and strap it down at the time I'm done hyperventilating. Might want to have a noose in order to keep yourself suspended so nothing impacts the tightened belt.

Hanging is the most popular suicide method, by far. And usually they aren't prepared at all and don't know about the carotid and other stuff and they still manage to do it just fine.
It can't be that hard.

It's the same for me. I only realised how difficult it was when I tried it myself.

It's impossible to do with a survival instinct already in place. You cannot suppress it at time of hanging thinking that you will just go unconscious.

You have to overcome the instinct, which means it's one part of developing what scientists call "acquired capability of suicide".

It's like a skill, not everyone has it. Some manage to develop it like any other skill.

But for others, it always remains impossible. God help you then if you have to continue living like that.

To elaborate, I tried partial with a soft piece of cloth in my bathroom multiple times. As soon as my brain starts feeling light headed, it also sends extreme pain signals to my body telling me to stand up. Now how the hell am I supposed to overcome that if my survival instinct doesn't even allow me to be unconscious ?

It's so hard. I want to try again this evening but don't think it'll work.

Yes, it seems like it requires so much practice. I want to practice once to see if I'd be brave enough to do it, but... It's a lot of work.

A 13 year old girl in India was able to do it just recently.

She wasn't depressed, she just wanted a new mobile phone that her parents woudn't buy for her.

When they went out for a couple of hours, she just got up and hung herself at home.

A 13 year old is able to do it, and I am not.

That's awful dying over a phone. I wonder why they include all of those details about her tiktok, too.

Yeah me neither. Though I think learning the technical aspects are to help make things easier, more peaceful and hopefully quicker. People CTB through hanging without much if any preparation. Although they may have suffered for longer or failed and come out of it much worse.

I was never aware of how much planning went into any method for that matter. I always thought it was just getting the materials, the guts to finally do it and well that was all there is to it. After being in this forum for just a few days I've learned so much and now understand how important planning is as well as the risks associated with different methods.
