So over a decade ago, I had a realization and a situation (not exactly related to CTB), that people can't do action, react, or have an opinion on something that doesn't exist (or that they lack knowledge of) which is common sense. In other words, one cannot be upset at an event that they have no idea existed and if they didn't know or have knowledge of, they could not act on it.
The example I'm getting at is back in like 2008 or 2010, I recall being part of a community that played video games (it was an MMO online game) and I had a bad reputation at the time (due to my immaturity and bad behaviors at the time, as a teenager). But then I realized that for people who didn't know about it, they couldn't have a bad opinion or react poorly to my previous negative reputation if they didn't know about it. The illogical part was when one of my friends in freshman college claimed that "Well TAW (not my name back then and also used different handle way back then btw), you lack popularity (in 2008) because you had a bad reputation, and if people didn't know your past history in that community, then you would be popular. Now how is this illogical? It is illogical because of the common sense fact that how could you go against (dissent, oppose, not support, not approve, demonize, etc.) something that you have no knowledge of? If they didn't have knowledge of my character back then, then they wouldn't be able to support it rather than the lack of support. In other words, they (new audience) could not have supported me if they didn't know of my character or channel back then. They can only choose to (or not to) support something if they have knowledge of it's existence, rather than lack thereof. Thus, my friend during my college freshman year (who also played the same MMO game) is incorrect in his reasoning that I didn't get enough support because of my (past negative) reputation.
Anyways, back to the topic about CTB and how it relates to "ignorance is bliss".
So based on this idea and logic, I've arrived at some assertion such that it seems like pro-lifers are mostly bothered by "the knowledge" of people checking out/CTB'ing but not necessarily the act itself (especially if they don't know about it). In other words, you don't hear about pro-lifers talking about the people who CTB'd across the world (in other places) because they have no knowledge of it, even if they know that it happens. You simply don't hear about pro-lifers (in the Western world) go out of their way to prevent CTB in other parts of the world that they aren't able to access, but rather within their own countries (US, Canada, Western Europe, etc.)
Therefore, it seems like pro-lifers get off to the fact that they prevented, did an heroic action to "save" someone regardless of whether the person wanted to be saved or not. If pro-lifers had no knowledge of a CTB, then it couldn't harm them (their ego), thus it is just a matter of their ego and feelings as well as their (shitty) world view being threatened that they act on their savior complex.
