Kind of surprised that my doctor (knowing my mental health history) has been giving me tablets on request. A few weeks ago it was Valium (which I stored up), and today I asked for sleeping tablets- Zopiclone and I received a call from my pharmacy to say that 28 tablets were ready to collect. I simply said in my prescription request, "I was prescribed these pills five years ago and am suffering from insomnia due to a bereavement" and they were given to me. My mother on the other hand with no history of mental health issues and who is experiencing the same family bereavement was given 5 Zopiclone tablets. I did wonder whether it was just a case of my doctor fobbing me off as he does not want to have to deal with me even though I have only ever met him twice (five minutes each time) and that was to sort out antidepressants about two years ago. (Side note - stopped taking those as they were useless). I also have a stash of Amitriptyline prescribed to me regularly when I was misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia. If it's that easy, once the 28 days are up, I'll order more and store those up too. Just made me wonder how eager some doctors are to not have to deal with patients with mental health issues - they'd rather give you some pills which could be misused!
