Being rich would make a lot of things in my life easier, though it would only help if I became retroactively rich. There were so many things that could've been prevented if I had the money back then. Even then, it wouldn't fix everything. And it definitely wouldn't mean much now. When they say money can't buy happiness, that definitely applies to me. Money can't get rid of my anxiety disorder nor can it remove my traumas and insecurities. It would only provide further escapism and negligence of my duties. Yes, I could pay off certain debts with ease but that's about it.
My life would be infinitely better if I had had a little more money when I was younger. What would have been a life changing amount of money back then would only make my life slightly better now.

Honestly money would make a huge difference. In terms of financial security, being able to afford a home, food, etc...

But it would do nothing for loneliness...feeling a burden on the world...feeling like an outcast

How much money would you consider "rich"?
Of course, there is kinda minimum amount of $ in order to just survive. It is true that you can buy a certain material physical convenience. The thing is, it is not that the more $ you have, the happier you are. There is limit of excitement and happiness you can feel out of money and it becomes lower and lower over time. Human beings are an animal of habit and the most adaptive animal. No matter how much $ you have, if you are the type who has been innately fundamentally temperamentally existentially suffering all the time, you get used to it over time and it is taken for granted like the air you are breathing or water or sun and become meaningless at all. So, I would say it depends on what kind of person you are as there are people who basically only need money to live their life, do not have much mental, psychological, emotional desires to fulfill.

being stupid rich would 100% make me stick around until i go of natural causes. Would it make me happy? probably not in the true sense of the word...but holy shit would i have fun with it, not to mention all the philanthropy you could do. Being broke is no joke, you miss out on some of the bare nessesities, forget about luxuires. Money isnt some objectivly evil thing, and there is no shame in admitting it could solve a lot of your problems/ease your suffering. I understand thats just my opinion, im not going to argue with somebody who says money wouldnt change a thing for them, because i understand that side too. But, the more money you have, the more options you have in life, and thats no small thing.

A 24/7 on call house computer tech. And a driver as well. I can drive, but I'm getting phobic about in certain situations. My savings could cover some of it. I'm a person of modest stuff that money can buy.

I think I may have. I haven't lived my life and kind of only survived. If I were rich, I would definitely give myself a proper chance. I would have lived alone and maybe tried to do something which I really liked. Money does provide a cushion sometimes and the lack of it can certainly push people to ctb sooner. Although it doesn't always necessarily solve the problems.

Money makes your life easier but doesn't buy happiness.
that is subjective and not speak for everyone.
for me it would be both, because
A. I would able to pay team members and dev and continue to make games
B. I wouldn't be decrepit and disabled like now.

It would make me happy.
I don;t use it for materizlsitic thign,s which is where this statement drives from. And/or using it to please others to be your friend/partnet, etc.
Hope it makes sense

At present it might buy me some options. I suspect my state would just degrade further to counteract that, though.

Yes I think money would help most people but this may just be a short term distraction. We can distract ourselves with new cars, nice houses etc… but at the end of the day they are just material things. We would still have our issues being masked temporarily. As they say…you can lie to everyone but not to yourself!

Part of me feels I will be suicidal for as long as I live. But it would be nice to be suicidal in a house or on a trip somewhere cool. I do think it would significantly help with some of the key stress factors of my life and make it more bearable.

It certainly won't solve all of my problems. But definitely will make life easier.

If my biggest concern was money I'd be on a site about getting money, not suicide.
Here we talk about many things not only suicide methods. We're not saying money is our biggest concern smarty one.. save your comments on my posts in the future.

People say that money can't buy happiness but it can in some cases. Most things revolves around money in this world unfortunately.

Dear God please understand that the people here who say great wealth isn't that important, DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME! Some of you here would consider money to be a million in the bank, some just want a house or a car. Let me explain. How many of you here want to go to the Louvre museum, the British museum, to see the Egyptian pyramids, the Roman and Greek ancient temples? How many of you could appreciate the techniques of building those temples, or the brush strokes used to create the Mona Lisa? How many of you could actually enjoy wearing five hundred dollar custom tailored blue jeans? Could anyone here Invision the effort it takes to mine, cut and facet a five or ten carat diamond, or emerald? Do any of you consider the effort it takes to cast a large custom piece of jewellery and then set the perfectly matched stones in it? Are you capable of wearing a custom piece of jewelry, and enjoying seeing the fire in its diamonds sparkle while wearing it? Could you possibly enjoy the feeling of security and comfort of being chauffeured in a Cadillac limousine? (Something I greatly enjoy on rare occasions). Would you recognize the freedom of owning your own 747, so that you could visit any destination on the planet. (Thanks to jet engine advances any 747 now in service is actually over powered!) I wonder if many of you could enjoy being an actor, musician or singer? I know I would. How about custom tailored and hand tooled leather dingo boots, could you appreciate those? Then there are personal automobiles, have any of you ever even heard of a Lamborghini Diablo? I can appreciate the engineering that produces its legendary horsepower, yet I in this life I couldn't even ride as a passenger in one, let alone own one.😭 Naturally even the super rich have to eat, imagine having your own kitchen staff and chef. Every day every meal you could have exactly what you want, no matter how expensive. (Bring on those lobster tails, fried scallops, filet mignon..)😋 Note I'm not talking Burger King, or McDonald's! Ever slept in silk pyjamas? I'd love to have a castle to live in, decorated with medieval furnishings,(and don't forget the suits of armor, swords, and pole axes). 😊They are so very nice. Imagine how much fun it would be with that kind of wealth to help homeless people and food banks!😂 When I say wealth, I mean wealth, not just a couple of measly hundreds of millions of dollars. So when you say money and I say money we are worlds apart. Just writing this is making me want to cry. There is just too much I lack in this life. I sometimes feel that I was born into the wrong family and life this incarnation. Sort of like my life is an error. How many people even think of a life like the one I have described? Let me ctb.

Lack of money has held me back from seeking alternative treatments outside of therapy and medications. Like you said it wouldn't solve everything but at least it would make things easier. I think it would keep me around a bit longer if anything.

Money will not buy my son's life back nor my father's. So, yes I will keep trying. Money can only buy distractions... not life.

Honestly, maybe? I am not sure. If I had an infinite amount of money, I would be able to pay someone to be my partner and that might be enough. Although I have multiple reasons for ctb, the loneliness is the most painful.

Plenty of very rich and successful people CTB. My problems are in my brain (wiring, neurochemistry, whatever) more money isn't going to fix any of that.
