I hate hearing this and I heard it again recently when someone was making fun of suicidal people, and said "if they were really eager to die and were suicidal they'd just kill themselves".

This makes my blood boil because it's really not that simple. Some have tried and had many failed attempts and are fearful of trying again, but that doesn't mean they don't want to commit…. Others can't financially access any methods which includes a rope for hanging and despite how cheap that may be, people in deep poverty do exist… and lastly survival instinct is very strong, and is quite literally part of our biological design, meaning it isn't easy to just fight off. I despise people who try to simplify suicide as if it's so black and white because, well, it isn't

I have spent the majority of my life wanting to die, thinking, calculating CTB, wanting every day, every hour, every minute to give in and finally do it. SI is real ... The fact that "I just can't do it" or "You must not want to die very bad or you would have done it" makes it a million times worse. No, I do want to die, more than anything, and I can't get over that hump and it makes the feelings that much more intense. It's torture to want to die so badly and not being able to. There are so many factors and to be honest, I envy anyone who can just do it. Fuck anyone who says that phrase.

When you're facing the abyss and you step foot into the void, that's when you understand that suicidal people are some of the bravest people there are. For taking that last step, as you stare into the darkness and it stares back at you... is anything but easy.

They've done studies that the majority of people who completed suicide and are dead told at least one other person at some point they were feeling suicidal.

Some of these pop culture sayings are so outdated so so backwards from where we are with mental health today.

Even saying things like well if you talk about it you won't do it. That's completely untrue

Now they always say to take it very seriously if someone feels that way. But people have these outdated things they've heard. Because they have no comprehension of what it's like to be suicidal and depressed or any idea about these things.

It's just complete ignorance.

I think that for someone to say something like that they have clearly never researched suicide before. Only non suicidal people would say things like that. They shouldn't be listened to and are clearly delusional. I wish that suicide is as easy as 'just doing it', but we live in a world that makes it as difficult for us to die as possible. Planning to leave this world can be so unnecessarily complicated and the difficulty of dying is what keeps me here even know I've never wanted to exist. People only have to read about the SI and failed attempts to realise how difficult suicide can be for people.

I wouldnt because my mom does not work and is always at home + after failed attempt parents prevent me from ordering SN as much as they can with some police officers rushing through my mail box whenever they want + I failed jumping so Im temporarily disabled and cant abandon home on my own to go to the parcel locker.

It's such an ignorant and cruel saying. It's actively goading people to die and completely lacks empathy. Obviously the people here understand that it's not true on multiple accounts, but like. Even if you believed that why would you ever say it? Unless your goal is to hurt the person or if you're just being completely thoughtless I can't think of any positive outcome it would create.

This is the ambiguity when talking about a person. Is there a "real" self different from the person's actions (e.g. he's actually a good person, but he just acts bad)? Which one is the real I, actions or mind/intentions?

Probably there is not even a unified self, but many selves, different voices, in the brain competing for actions. Some selves want to ctb, some say no.

I also hate hearing this. Now days people lack empathy, compassion, or even the mental capacity to comprehend anything other than their basic ass train of thought. Many of these people are the ones you can't even try and talk any sense to, they would probably just tilt their head, with a blank face like a dumb dog.

Can I also piggyback onto this... I hate when people say "what do you even have to be sad about, there are people in other countries that don't even have food, water, or a home. So you should just be happy" when depression is brought up, regardless of what is creating it. Or they just say "cheer up and be happy, life isn't that bad" when they have zero clue what ypu are going through!

I want to die. It's a daily thought. I'd much prefer it happened as a consequence of things beyond my control but that doesn't seem to be an option that is going to happen any time soon.
So I have my plan, it's just will it be this month or the next one, my obsession with seven is making me think this month over next month.
