Discussion If you could have a dream holiday before you ctb....

....what would it be? Was discussing this with my kids earlier and I would love to rent a castle for two weeks over the Christmas period, it would have to be somewhere with guaranteed snow. Would dress up in medieval costume from Christmas Eve till Boxing day and have proper time appropriate fare....hog roast etc. I would also want to go for a horse ride Christmas morning. We've looked at a few castles in Poland which are looking promising, so might actually get to do this before I ctb.

Just being able to go outside without social anxiety and maybe smile and say hello to people. That would be the best holiday from my mind

That sounds so lovely. I think for myself, I would want to stay in a log cabin, preferably somewhere nice and far away from everything. It'd be surrounded by empty forests and fields, where I could just walk endlessly without ever bumping into someone. Hopefully without too many squirrels nearby so I can take my dog, too (he loves to chase them haha). Sounds a bit out of the realm of possibility though, but it'd be my dream to go somewhere like that, I'll bet it'd be very peaceful.

We did consider a safari, it was a toss up between a Christmas in a castle, safari or cruise to Antarctica. The castle won as I love Christmas, it is a splendid time for family and loved ones.

Honestly, I don't want to live even another day here. Though, if I weren't as I was, going to Ireland would be really nice, I love the greenery and the fields. The architecture is wonderful as well. Perhaps somewhere in Scandinavia , alone in a mountain surrounded by snow. Stay in a cottage or something, with the stars. Yeah.

Everyone's ideas here are so nice. It's a shame life has to be this way

Maybe a snowed in cabin with a lot of alcoholic drinks and other naughty things to indulge in.
Listening to music in front of a warm fire while drinking and thinking of the people I had met in life that made me have some hope would be lovely.

I would just like to have a nice quiet weekend with my husband in Austin TX or Chicago IL, maybe take my dog to the park and have her run around. I would make sure I look presentable and that I take a lot of pictures with him to have afterwards. I would just try to leave him with something good to think of me by, so I don't guilt him with my choice. That would be a good holiday.

I've seen so much of the world travelling solo or with friends
Would be nice to holiday and travel somewhere peaceful with someone for 1 last trip. Greece and or the Balkans quite appeal spring time when the land is waking up flowers blooming, Take trains, buses and boats to admire the scenery and reflect. Do some hiking eat the best local food drink the best local beer.

I always wanted to go to one of those fancy little hotels in Finland that show off the northern lights. Always has been my dream honeymoon location.

Im not the biggest "holiday person" because I was always quiet content with staying at home (which already got some beautiful places and nature to visit nearby).
The only thing I'd love to see one last time would be the north/baltic sea.
I miss laying or walking on the beach, while the sun warms my (wet) skin. Also that distinct smell (sunscreen and sea salt) is something I associate with having a great time as a kid.

Being able to live in a healthy body is already a holiday
As for the destination: islands in Thailand. Ive spent 5 years of my life there. It's paradise

I'm on it right now. I'm in Seattle.. which is one of my favorite places on earth.. but these things never fully pan out as expected not that I had any expectations.. I've been down this road before.. so I know not to expect anything.. just enjoying the weather and tying up lose ends.. that sort of thing.. I gave it one last go.. tried to give everybody one last chance to redeem themselves that got me to this point again, years ago if im honest.. many years ago.. but they'll never line out.. talking people that are going to jail some of them.. I decided when I got here.. they either pan out and behave and mind for real.. or I'm ending it for real.. take a guess.. since I'm here.. I just wonder who raises some of those people. Like how are their families not ashamed of them.. I digress.. I'm on my suicide vacation right now.. killing myself here too.. Also.. Seattle has far more lax laws about suicide.. I like the people here better.. They look like me, think like me to some degree.. similar life attitudes.. political ideals.. I just wanted to be around people that are like me.. I need some sense of comfort like that in a way before I go..
