Myself, it would have to be The Last Of Us.

I love the thought of surviving in a post-apocalyptic world, killing foes before they kill me, navigating the world.

It would make more sense than this poxy world, and would give me purpose.

How about you? What video game setting would you like to be transported to, and why?

I love this question! I'm too squeamish and terrified of zombies.
But I'd love to exist in the Skyrim world as a herbalist or something, live on a mountain looking down at the sea. It's just a game that always brought me comfort. Sure there's bandits and such but it would be so amazing to live in Skyrim.

Yes, I'd also love to live in the Skyrim universe.

Did you complete the game? I did, and loved every minute of it.

When I contemplate the prospects of my existence in alternative realities such as those depicted in video games, I can't help but succumb to an overwhelming sense of despondency. It dawns upon me that my significance, if any, would be utterly negligible, relegated to the role of an inconspicuous and forgettable entity—nothing more than the mundane Random NPC #19841719. In this pitiful state, I would hold no sway over the world around me, destined to fade into obscurity, devoid of any meaningful impact. At worst, I would serve as mere cannon fodder, disposable and expendable, an insignificant casualty amidst the chaos and despair of that grim reality.

Personally, I don't see why I would want to live in a place as desolate as the world of "The Last of Us", "Fallout", "STALKER" and the likes. As life, with its inherent struggles and hardships, weighs heavily upon us all. It becomes acutely apparent that beyond the realms of the privileged Western countries, a multitude of souls find themselves trapped in war-torn lands, their lives perpetually ensnared in the clutches of ongoing conflicts. In the depths of their wearied hearts, they yearn for an escape, a respite from the relentless chaos that engulfs their existence. Amidst such turmoil, it seems implausible to imagine that living amidst an active warzone could imbue their lives with any semblance of meaning. Perhaps, in some twisted manifestation of zealotry and indoctrination, one might perceive a distorted purpose in such an existence, but for the vast majority, the notion is naught but a cruel illusion.

But for the sake of the question, I'd say that I would love to exist in the world of Spyro, for a little while. It is one of my favourite childhood games and even with the technical limitations of the Playstation One they still managed to architect a world that couldn't help but invoke a magical feeling. The world of Spyro is filled with lush landscapes, mystical realms, and vibrant colours. Imagine residing in a world where sparkling gemstones, crystal-clear waters, and lush meadows are a common sight. It would be a visually captivating place, brimming with charm and beauty. So it wouldn't matter if I had no powers or anything of consequence in that world as I could still benefit from its enchanting beauty

I completed it a few times as there's various ways to play it. Although the quests are the same I always discover new things in the world each play through. I know it's an older game technically, but it always brings be some happiness being I that world.

This answer is a very simple one: Pokémon. Pokémon has been my special interest since I was in 2nd grade. I absolutely adored all of the creatures that were on the other side of the DS screen and the adventures that my pokemon and I went on will always be near and dear to my heart. The main reason I would want to be in the Pokémon world is companionship; I tend to get lonely sometimes so, having an axolotl-like animal that can spit out water akin to a water gun to love me for the rest of time is a dream come true. Not to mention Pokemon tend to live longer than pets so I wouldnt have to worry about losing my precious pokemon to old age so quickly <3

i love this question!! Honestly I would have to say stardew valley. I dream all the time about living a simple life in a small town. Where everyone knows and helps eachother. A tight-knit community of just relaxing, farming, cooking and mingling. Such a simple yet beautiful concept. I'm so sick of this industrial world.

None. The type of games i play the environment are very hostile (for example the last of us ) that would be so anxiety inducing for me having to deal with those zombies and the military and the fire flies or whatever their name is. It would be crazy i wouldnt be able to handle the anxiety

I would prefer not to exist in any video game for the matter. However, for the sake of discussion, I would probably want to just exist in the Pokemon world, where I can battle trainers and eventually the champion. Assuming that all power evens out at the end (lv 100 being the maximum level), I would someday reach the highest level and can just camp somewhere peacefully with no worries and enjoy the glory. No responsibilities and such though I suppose boredom will eventually consume me.

As I've mentioned many times before it would be the indie demo Final Kismet, because it is fantasy and surrealism, but also a world of consumed by war, despair, suicide and death.

I agree with the notion of how western privelaged countries don't really understand the true horrific nature of war and how post apocalyptic it is, and our current sentimental beliefs and philosophical fascination with these settings/areas is flawed. But personally I feel like the extistenial doom and how insignificant you are really enforced the fact that humanity is fucked and that you should only live life with those you like and get along with(like battle buddies/comrades in the case for stalker) and you shouldn't associate/be around people you don't like, even if their your family/blood relatives. And as your probably can tell that I would like to live life in stalker, no matter how hypocritical it sounds because I agree it is hypocritical(not looking to start a arguement just acknowledgement). On top of how the zone is unforgiving and how you can either make the best of friends with your other fellow stalkers or your worst enemy. The zone is complex but is really black and white. Unlike in modern countries, laws and morality doesent exist in the zone. You can kill/abandon someone you don't like and no one cares or would bat an eye. You don't have to worry about sentimentality or relationships, just survive or die. Your driving force for living in the zone is exploring its anomalies and excessive drinking. Suicide is normal in the zone, it's only a matter of time when your done exploring and surviving in the zone and you decide to pull the trigger.

Genshin, because I love building relationships with characters in the tea-pot realm. I love to fantaize about different characters and pair them up, thinking about their interactions and bond, because I'm incredibly lonely. The story of this game has lots of "found family" dynamics, where people who have lost their relatives end up finding close relationships with others in the same position, so in addition to all the fantasy elements of the game's world, I am craving that connection which doesn't seem to exist in real life.

i'd probably like to live in a game like persona 4 or 5, that'd be pretty cool. those games really did feel like just hanging out with friends, and I really miss the feeling. they got me through some tough times. wish i could wipe my memory and play them again, but to be honest i don't know if i'd be able to enjoy them, with how badly i want to die right now.

I understand that there are certain things about the Zone that might seem attractive. For example, like you said the Zone operates outside the bounds of conventional society. For those who seek an escape from the constraints and norms of the outside world, the Zone offers a certain degree of freedom and autonomy. It allows individuals to live on their own terms, unburdened by societal expectations and rules. And also the camaraderie and belonging that joining a faction could provide. Playing a guitar song at a campfire in the Zone with your fellow stalkers would be a memorable and unique experience. The simple act of gathering around a campfire and playing music would take on a greater significance, providing a moment of respite and community in an otherwise hostile world

But... I think that the Zone in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is a complex and multifaceted environment, and it would be inaccurate to describe it as strictly black and white morally speaking.

While the Zone is certainly a dangerous and hostile place where survival often requires ruthless tactics, it is also home to a variety of factions and individuals with their own goals, motivations, and moral codes. For example, the Ecologists and Clear Sky adopt a highly practical approach towards dealing with the Zone. They prioritize containing and studying its mysteries. Despite their imperfections, such as government influence, limited resources, dangerous missions, and Clear Sky's unfortunate demise, they strived to comprehend the Zone while also being prepared for its inherent dangers. And then we have factions like the mercs, for instance. Their sole focus revolves around lining their pockets, disregarding any moral compass they might have had. They end up morally bankrupt, driven solely by greed and personal gain.

And then there are the bandits, whose very name hints at their nature. But if their name doesn't explains you enough. The bandits even have subjected loners to forced labour in Garbage. They made the loners risk their lives, all to retrieve artifacts for the bandits

The Zone itself is often portrayed as a force with its own agenda, capable of both providing and taking away resources, altering the environment in unpredictable ways, and testing the limits of human endurance and morality. It is a phenomenon that defies conventional understanding and has a profound impact on the laws of physics as we know them. Within the Zone, the normal rules governing the physical world are distorted, manipulated, and sometimes completely shattered. Those properties alone make the Zone all more interesting and enigmatic

It's you bring up intresting points about the factions and your right in the sense that with factions/groups with idealogies, it definitely blurs the black and white choices and forces people to weigh their options before choosing a group. Like if say if you join Duty you'll most likely be completely safe, but you have to hate the zone in all it's forms and your only drive in life is the maddening hate for the zone and it's supporters(mercs, freedom, monolith). Alternatively you could join freedom, but to be straight that probably be the best faction I see myself ending up in the sense of you like living in the zone because your free from the norms of society. Won't have to worry about being robbed or backstabbed by your mates. And you still feel and share the hardships between yourself and your comrades. Only con is you come into conflict with other factions(like duty but I think the eventually find peace). Thinking about it further it just kinda sounds I am being pedantic and not really appreciative of my privileges, and really just seeking escapism. But hey it is what it is. Ultimately your right in the sense that it isn't all black and white in STALKER
