i guess it depends a lot on how you define heaven. if it's something perfectly suited for one person doesn't mean it'll work as well for another, but nonexistence is the same for everyone.. not saying that the latter is necessarily better, though; it's a tough choice and is definitely some food for thought.

I would choose Non-existence forever

Eternal Non-existence is the ultimate perfection

Never any unbearable pain , not having to think or worry , never wanting anything u can't have

No extreme suffering unbearable pain , never any bad memories , horrible problems

No diseases, or threats , suffering, old age

Not having to work a job or chores and clean every damn thing every day

Let's say a superintelligent ASI God manages to create heaven on earth.Gives every consciousness their personal paradise where everyone can live out their fantasies
Which one would you prefer? That heaven or nonexistence?

For one its the only way to forget terrible memories of this evil world and horrible things that happened to me

Only eternal Non-existence can wipe all those horrible memories of life and this evil world

I would never want to exist in a universe that could spawn such evil as life and some humans and this evil world

In any heaven U would still have the memories of evil, , injustice, torure of this evil place . But there is no heaven only eternal Non-existence after Death

I agree with you that non existence is the most ideal state but still given the option between heaven and nonexistence,I would choose heaven. That's how irrational I am

In any kind of existing U would still have the knowledge or the memories of the unfathomable evil, , injustice, torure of life and this evil place called Earth. But there is no heaven only eternal Non-existence

No if,the memories cause me suffering, then by definition that is not heaven.
Similarly, some people say you will get bored in heaven. To them ,I say you cannot get bored in heaven since boredom is also a form of suffering.
Heaven is a place where there is no suffering.Only happiness

no you won't have any bad memories. It is only happiness and joy.Zero suffering

I choose eternal Non-existence

I would never want to exist under any circumstances

Also I was brought here to be a slave

I would never want to voluntarily be part of this evil and the evil done to me. I want out of this hell also as an act of rebellion and to undo this evil imposition not surrender and prolong it

Plus what u say is impossible. There are only 2 things life = hell and Non-existence forever which is the opposite

Life is full of suffering with always the possibility of extreme torture

To me every time I seek to "enjoy" myself or do something voluntarily I'm accepting this evil done to me this evil life and evil world

To me Every time I do something voluntarily Im condoning this evil , i'M being prolife because I do something in life. Plus that garbage takes away time from working on deciding and getting my real goal my suicide ready to go and doing it

It is impossible i know, hence it is hypothetical
A reality where you never feel bad.Only happiness and joy and where you can live out your fantasies.
where whatever you imagine becomes your reality

Judging off of specifically the definition of heaven given by OP, I would pick heaven. Although if it specifically heaven as described in religious texts, definitely non-existance. I do not like the narcissistic nature of God and how we are forced to believe in him for salvation, I do not believe in him myself and personally believe that it is a scare tactic moreso than anything to get people to believe in the religion and also control the populus at large.

Okay maybe I ranted a bit too much. I just really do not like religion.

I'd probably choose non-existence, but if I had the chance to live with my consciousness in a virtual world, like San Junipero (Black Mirror), or the Sublime (Westworld), I'd probably give it a try, even if I was only a tourist. (If I could choose my own body/avatar. - and music., although, I like that Westworld has a lot of Radiohead.)

Non existence. Presumably heaven would have the same creator as this world? I don't trust them to have done a better job there.

if heaven were a perfect personal paradise... it would require a modified mind, of sorts. in that case i'd be up for it, i suppose

For me only non-existence could ever be desirable and is just all I'll hope for no matter what, I'll just always prefer to not exist than suffer in this dreadful, cruel and deeply undesirable existence I just always saw as a mistake, for me non-existence is just all that's positive and I'll just always and only hope for the peace of it where I'm permanently unconscious and all is finally forgotten about, I wish I could erase this existence, all I want is to never suffer again, for me existence itself is the true problem and I find it the most terrible tragedy how this existence was imposed causing all this dreadful unnecessary suffering as a result.

If heaven means I get to experience beautiful things which I didn't get to experience in life, then I'm saying yes to the heaven.

If I could exist in a completely different form, with no physical body and no memories of this world, and live in a state of peace, that would be heaven to me, so I'd pick heaven.

It'd almost be like nonexistence compared to this world, because it's so different it's impossible to really imagine or conceptualize. If it was a case of rolling the dice on some type of reincarnation that still has to do with this plane of existence, then no, I wouldn't take that chance. But my personal heaven, where "existing" means something so different from human life that we can't imagine it while we're still living as a human- yep, I'd go for that.

I really do not like the idea of non existence. It has always sounded really boring for me. Just... Nothing. Forever and ever and ever. I would never want that.

Heaven, but only if I had a different mind - one that is free from mental illness, and if I was able to experience everything that makes me happy... everything that I wanted to experience while I was alive but wasn't able to.

But if not, then I choose non-existence.

I don't quite understand what heaven is, as a concept it seems flawed and not written well enough for discussion.
Even if the heaven in question is a place where your happiness hormones will be working for eternity, perhaps even for no reason. Like imagine it as a world where you stare at the ceiling for eternity, but your brain is designed so that the ceiling watching brings you eternal joy? Sounds creepy. I'd choose non-existence.
But if I were to die, I dream of being given the opportunity to get knowledge about everything I'm interested in. About how my life would have turned out if I'd made different decisions. About what someone really thought of me. About confirming or disproving all the theories I've ever had. And then choosing: to not exist or to be reincarnated. Considering that I know happy people exist, I think I'd take the risk and choose reincarnation

As an active Catholic I'm supposed to say heaven, but I can't get past the feeling that just like so many other times in my life, my name will be left off the list, I'll fall through the cracks and go unnoticed into nonexistence. I think God might just let that happen because he knows it's best for me.
