  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

people are assholes to each other because they take others life for granted. If suicide methods were so accessible the death rate would certainly increase, but on the other hand we would care more about each other; parents wouldn't treat their kids like crap; the government would perhaps seek to be less corrupt because it would understand that corruption would lead to a massive increase in suicide rate. Life would be so much better if we could just push a button and disappear instantly, without even leaving a body to spare.

This is true. There are no benefits to making ctb unnecessarily complicated, difficult and risky, this will just lead to more torment and suffering being experienced all for the sake of it which could had easily been prevented. To be able to disappear instantly from this cruel existence would be the best thing possible to me, as to die solves all problems. We shouldn't have to struggle to die and wishing to restrict suicide methods from others is insane. Continuing to exist is just delaying the inevitable after all and I personally see no point or benefit to any kind of suffering.

It's hard to know how it would pan out in practice, but I have made a similar argument in the past.

that was a very good take. I also think that euthanasia being strictly prohibited has something to do with corruption, which reinforces if it were allowed the quality of life would improve. Perhaps one of the first steps towards a utopia would be euthanasia?

I'm not sure. It's also possible that people in positions of power would be even more abusive to the ones below. "Don't like the way things work in here? Just kill yourself".

The world would definitely be a better place. Maybe psychiatrists would try harder, general practice doctors might try harder. There would be less of a stigma around euthanasia and family members just might become more understanding over time, in cases where nothing else can be done.

The world would be a better place WITH LESS SUFFERING.

There would be less people STUCK here against their will, like myself = a better world.

I know that I've been on disability for 3 years now, unable to work and function due to depression, anxiety and ADHD. I am a DRAIN on the system. I'm reliant on others, not able to support myself and not able to contribute in a positive way to society, family, my community etc. If CTB was easy & I was gone, it would be a major burden off the disability system, and a major burden off friends and family = a better world.
