• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I'm terming it 'N' because most people recognise the term 'nembutal' but I realise that's a brand name or whatever and it's really pentobarbital.

Despite the semantics, if assisted suicide does become legalised globally, I suspect it will be for a very small fraction of the population- those with terminal/ chronic illness.

I suspect the rest of us will still be stuck with DIY methods. Still- if nembutal/ pentobarbital is being produced in greater quantity- what are the chances it will become more accessible on the black market again?

I suppose though, they may opt for things like the Sarco Pod. Lol. Imagine breaking in to use their facilities! Sorry- gallows humour.

This isn't really an option for me still. I've no interest in breaking the law. I'm sure it will still be a highly restricted substance. Just throwing it out there as a thought though...

I imagine it'll still be very hard to access, just as whatever vets use to put down animals is difficult to come by. Access will be strictly monitored and limited such that anyone distributing it would be easily identifiable.

Plus, demand for it would be low enough that it'd not really be commercially viable for dealers to sell. Even with SN, which does have a commercial use, people are still reliant on a small number of sellers to actually provide it without stringent checks beforehand (and some of them are basically just dangerous individuals who like to play God and with whom suicidal people have a temporary mutual convergence of interests).

I imagine the average vet has enough euthanasia drugs (?) to allow for human suicide, but you don't see them available, so I doubt it'll be any different. It's not easy to get away with stealing stuff from hospitals and distributing it publicly.

If assisted suicide is legalised worldwide, why do you think it will not be for you? If it would be really legal, you do not need any justification like terminal or chronic illness, it should be sufficient that you want to die. Just the same like having children, you do not have to justify your decision.

But there will be no big market for stuff like nembutal because the broad majority of people wants to live as long as possible even when they are chronic or terminal ill.

I can't envisage it being that accessible in our lifetimes. Can you? I imagine it will always be tightly restricted unless things vastly change.

I am afraid to even think about how far away this society is from making AS legal worldwide XD.
But in a hypothetical situation, if society becomes open minded enough, I think N may become more available to everyone.

I would say, most likely yes, it would be more widely available, maybe not exactly N, but a similar substance or so. It would probably have less restrictions according to the hypothetical reality of assisted suicide being legalized (and likely more socially accepted, or at least tolerated) worldwide.
