If asked, would you agree to witness a suicide?
Yes as long as it was not something that tore a body a part.

I wouldn't take pleasure in seeing something like that but I think it would be crucial in my effort to desensitized myself. I don't want to fear death or rather I don't want to be made frantic or discombobulated when I witness it. I want to be calm and rational if that ever happened. Panic doesn't help anyone.

I feel witnesses is being supportive of their right to take their own life

I witnessed my mother's natural death. Definitely calm and peaceful. I suppose I could witness a medically assisted suicid.

I feel like that's a risk for getting arrested for being complicit. We live in a fucked society that doesn't want people to have freedom over their lives.

If they want me to and we're relatively close I would be willing.

This is true, it would have to be done securely. In the US I believe you'd have to actively encourage or guide the suicide for them to consider prosecuting, but honestly I'm unfamiliar with the laws around it.

I would not witness a suicide. People's final moments should be private and I have no interest in watching people delete themselves in real-time.

No because I don't want to end up in prison.

I may sound weird but If the other person desires for me to be a witness, then I will witness a suicide, but only a SN one.

As for my future SN suicide, part of me wants to do it in private setting all alone, but another part of me has a desire to be in a presence of a caring and kind female (age not important), to comfort me while I slowly lose consciousness after I drink my SN.

I'm conflicted about this. I don't know if I could handle it emotionally.

I am not too worried about legal consequences, as even assisting a suicide is legal where I live, as long as it is not done for selfish motives, but there is still always a police investigation of every suicide, and being questioned by the police, even if I didn't do anything illegal, is still annoying.

I can't do it...

I've watched one die in a car crash(multi vehicle accident, not done intentionally), and that traumatized me.

Watching someone's eyes as life drains from their body, is not something I desire to see again.

Depends. They would have to be a very close friend or relative. I doubt I'd be a good support though. I'd find it difficult not to cry.

Conflicted…

I suppose i would. But this heavily depends on the method used.

I also partially want to be comforted in my last moments. If someone close asks for me to watch than I would, I doubt I'd been much or any help but I would.

Although this is also dependent on the method used. An SN suicide I could watch. But something like hanging I couldn't.

If requested by the person yes. There would be no hesitation in my answer either.

Si la otra persona me lo pidiera, lo haría. Supongo que tendría buenas razones para querer que presenciara sus últimos momentos, y creo que no me afectaría negativamente por ello.

I think I answered in Spanish, sorry, I wasn't paying attention because I was thinking about the answer lol

No, I would rather not witness someone's suicide; I just don't see any reason I would want to view someone's private passing, and if it was someone I knew deeply then ironically I would likely be a horrible 'support' anyways since I got very bad attachment issues.

Depends on the level of legal culpability I could expect. If I could reasonably justify that I was just a bystander, then perhaps. I wouldn't have any reservations against it, at least. But if my involvement be argued to be of a position that could lead to my arrest, I'd be a bit more hesitant. Naturally, I'd feel sorry for the person in any case; but I feel witnessing someone else's death would push me closer towards committing the act myself, and I wouldn't want my freedom to do so restricted, as selfish as that may be.

if they needed comforting i would do anything to help them or just talk to them and distract them. it would be such an internal conflict to see someone die and know from experience that saving them is not necessarily the merciful thing to do. i don't know if the guilt could be withstood.

Yes, for their comfort, and to potentially intervene, if they were going to use bad method or other reason.

I would too solely if asked to provide comfort but not to take pleasure from a person who is going to die.

It would make me happier if I could be someone's form of companionship / comfort during their last moments. Knowing that at least one person cared about them and respected their decision will make those moments go much smoother mentally I'd feel.

I was there for my dad as he drank his slurry. A few minutes as he took his last breath. That is the only suicide that I witnessed.

I have seen many patients pass when the machines keeping them alive were turned off.

I have also witnessed several natural deaths including my mom's.

Watching a person die changes you and all of the people were ready to go. I do believe that being there brought comfort to those people.
