I wish I could be a cat. I think that all of my problems are a result of me being a human. Being a human is the source of all of my troubles. I honestly hate being a human. I'm pretty sure that if past lives exist I most definitely did not choose to be a human. I probably became one by mistake.

Cats honestly have such nice lives. They can just simply exist and vibe, and they don't have to worry about anything. They don't have to work or make a living or pay bills and taxes and all the dumb shit humans have to do. They don't have to pay to exist, their existence costs nothing. The thing I hate the most is that human existence costs money. You literally have to pay money to exist and *earn* a living, yet none of us even chose to be born. I hate how other animals have an intrinsic right to existence, and we don't. I hate how we have to earn our livings.

I envy the fact that cats have no obligations, worries, or responsibilities. I hate the responsibilities that come with life and adulthood, and I'm honestly not ready for them. I hate having to take part in this capitalist rat race called life, and having to eventually become a wageslave to the system. I want out! I really think that I'm not fit to be a human being, and that I wasn't meant to be one.

I fantasize about similar things a lot! But in my mind it's more about being something non-living, like an object or a concept. No expectations, no obligations, no awareness. Though perceiving and observing as an inanimate thing wouldn't be too bad either.

Well cats can also suffer as any other animal unfortunately.

Recently we found two kittens abandoned by their mom for whatever reason and we tried to help them as much as we could. They didn't survive past 3rd week. It was devastating but I learned to cope by shuting down my bad feelings whenever they start surfacing. I did cry a little when first one died, 2nd one looked much healthier but on monday she died unfortunately.

I despise nature. Those two alone in the grass helpless and crying was such a cruel sight. My insides felt like bursting. I think mother abandoned them because she is too young, we did found her the same day we found them but she didn't want them.

Veterinarians said we did best we could. We really tried.

I am sorry for sharing this. I just wanted to point out how some animals suffer even tho others can thrive a bit. I understand what you meant and what you desire. Although I feel you could also feel better as human if you are financially stable enough that you don't have to work for the rest of your life and can be taken care of by others if you want as well.

I think everyone at some point has wanted to be non-human, I've fantasized being a bird and flying away from the noise and polluted air that comes from civilization.

I wouldn't wish to exist under any circumstances personally, animals have the potential to suffer so extremely as well but at least they can be euthanised. But I see all suffering as being undesirable in the first place.

Despite living in a civilised world and technological advancement, I believe humans are still the most insufferable species on the planet. I think we suffer more than any other wild animal ever could have the potential for suffering.

Same! I hate the fact that I was forced to exist as a human being and be unfortunate enough to have neurodivergence as well. My autism/Asperger's literally makes me unfit to be a human being, I can't handle the demands of life. This is worsened by my ADHD and you have a person (more like procrastinator) with time blindness, shit executive function, horrible time management, terrible organization, as well as social difficulties and trouble interacting with others. I can't even finish things cuz I get bored, I start a lot of things but don't finish a lot of them. I lose interest halfway and move onto the next thing. How am I ever going to succeed in life with these issues? It's like the universe doesn't want me to be successful. I can't deal with life…I wish I never existed. I can honestly barely do one thing a day, it takes me so much energy to just exist. I can't handle real adulthood. It's honestly like I was never meant to be a human being, and I can't be a fully functional one.

Even if the chance was 1% or lower for a being to suffer a lot, the risk to make them is selfish to take imo.

This made me think. What if we could live comfortably in some shape or form but we still had to die, this time tho, painlessly. Would death still be as tragic to everyone? Would procreation be worth it then in your opinion?

I still feel like it is not worth it and also there is the great unknown we would have to uncover even if we were immortal. And what would we find out, out there in space?

I feel like I went off topic, sorry op.

Literally! Yet we think that we're above other animals and we're so "advanced" and "civilized". Ugh honestly I hate humans, we're so hypocritical. We suffer the most yet we still think we're gods and "special" and that being a human is a gift and the ideal state/thing one could be

Small animals like cats have to always be on the lookout for large birds and such tho. Seeing my neighbors cat mauled by an Eagle who flew away with him was so traumatizing when I was a kid :(

I'd rather be a golden retriever. those guys are always happy and not bird prey

I honestly don't think that procreation that resulted in my existence was worth it, and I hate the fact that my parents had children. I hate the fact that I was born, I never even wanted to exist in the first place, yet I had no choice. I wish that before being born, people could have a choice whether or not to exist. I most definitely never consented to my existence.

Sometimes I feel the same but I am also curious about everything.

I feel like a rat stuck in a box with only a glimpse of outside. But even if I saw more, what is the point if my existence ends when my brain stops?

Still even after my death it scares me that world goes on forever and mysteries unsolved.

Yeah, there are so many mysteries in the world and universe. I wish that I could learn everything there is to learn, and know everything there is to know. However, I believe that life is inherently meaningless. The world will go on with or without you. I think that my life is insignificant, we're honestly just specks of dust in the vast, neverending universe, yet we act as if we're the center of the world. I like to believe that there might be life after death, but honestly I'm not sure if I want to live again. This life is already so tiring and hard.

I agree with your point of view about society and capitalism. Animals suffer too, it's true, but they don't have to worry about these kind of things, they go through pain, still...
they don't care about the dirty world we live in.

People will always say "save animals! stop pollution!", but they will never think about saving what they can control: themselves.
Honestly, I know it's kind of useless to wonder about what we as a society could be without this thinking ""philosophy"", this trap we call 'politics' and 'form of government', because I know it doesn't really matter.
But I like to fantasize about a different way to live, more similar to a cat than a "superior human" <3

I used to always be jealous of cats I owned in the past 😆. Everyone I live with is allergic to them so haven't had one in 12+ years. But a neighbor cat stops by for treats and a belly rub occasionally. No clue who he belongs to, has a collar though so not a stray or cat in distress. My youngest son is obsessed with thinking he's a cat (Asperger's/Autism). I don't blame him, it would be nice :/

It is rough for sure. And eternity seems scary to me even if we knew a lot.

For humans and animals main goal seems to be that we feel good or act on our impulses. And brain decides what feels certain way. No wonder some people get addicted to drugs. If it feels so good to feel good it only makes sense.

I could imagine us being hooked on some device that just pumps pleasure into us forever and being content like that. Even my curious nature would end in that scenario. I would never want to unplug.

And that is why you are right. Life is kinda meaningless since we are slaves to our brains at least in this form.
