  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

After I watched my mother take her last breath in hospital I said I'll be joining you soon mum. That was 2 years ago. And trust me it has felt like 10 miserable years. I couldn't do another full year of this bullshit. I am just so tired of everything. The world is in bad shape and Billionaires, who avoid paying tax, are being glorified in the media for space travel. Like that is the pinnacle of human achievement while there is so much suffering on planet earth. Suffering that these tycoons could alleviate somewhat if greed wasn't the driving factor for everything. Oh well at least I will get to enjoy the new Chucky series and Halloween kills before the year is out. Ironic that I 'briefly' escape the horrors of the real world with the horrors of fiction. I am so glad I found this community though. You peeps rock!

Unfortunately, If you want my opinion - I am actually centre-right (so I support slight part of what you don't like about the world) if this thread is meant to be about politics. If this thread is meant to be about how bad life is, look - there's always something. Life is bad with or without us here and in my opinion it's precisely in human nature to be selfish. Hence my ideology. We usually think of ourselves as much clever than animals, but this is not true on all levels and it's not black and white. There will always be wars, hunger and diseases. New wars start, Poor economies collapse, Diseases mutate and emerge. It's been like this for thousands of years. The world is not changing at all. Not in the core. But It's not keeping you from enjoying life.

Albert Camus pondered this question of life as he looked at the horrors of WW2. He asked, "If the world is meaningless, could our individual lives hold value?" He found that, yes, they COULD - "The literal meaning of life is whatever you're doing that prevents you from killing yourself." I translate this as "Do what brings you joy, find like-minded people and make meaningful connections. Only then you can face life itself."

Nah, I can't compete in the rat race anymore and nor do I want to. I find this competition crap to be truly exhausting and I will never be good enough anyway. Plus, I have mental illness and other things to deal with that are out of my control. I fucking hate divisive politics as well and Capitalism. It has made humans greedy and selfish. Some tribal communities and eco villages are cool but they are out of my reach. Thanks for the input though.

This world really is a miserable place, there is unlimited potential for suffering. When I look at all that is wrong with this world it just makes me want to leave more. If you decide to leave, then I wish you peace. Existing really is tiring.

Thanks. I don't think it's a rat race and I like most parts of capitalism. We will agree to disagree. What you do is up to you and you only. But the sad reality of our lives is true. If you want to live, you will have to do it on your own. For me it's hard fought battle after hard fought battle... If you want to die, the world doesn't care and will let you. Life is truly merciless.

Yeah, I'm done. There is nothing now that will alleviate this suffering. I have been here too damn long.
