I used to think everyone was an alien

When I was a little kid, I had this belief that everyone around me was an alien. I believed that people would transform into their normal selves when I wasn't around and put on a disguise when I was around.

I don't think that's true anymore, but metaphorically maybe my younger self was more in tune with people than I am now. Did anyone else hold similar strange beliefs when they were younger?

Not gonna lie, had similar thoughts many times at sleepovers. Hell, I imagine stuff like that when I'm with an SO.

I also had this weird game in my mind where I would stare at the digital clock in my room and if I couldn't redistribute the numbers in the 3 or 4 slots on the clock in a way where I'd subtract or add from row to another row until they were all the same, I got anxious.

But what it all the aliens banded together? We only feel different because we haven't found the people who share our gifts. It's only in solidarity that we can call this place our home.

I had a hard time understanding that I was not the only one who had a consciousness. I genuinely believed that other people can't possibly be conscious and only are NPC Characters. Especially people who always seem happy like my mother.

I can't say i felt like an alien when I was very young but at some points and referring to my views when I was older, in my 20s, I felt sometimes like being an alien because I did everything in a different way than the regular way the majority is doing it. Successful at that time, not successful now anymore, so now I'm an alien in the society who does not respect the wish to CTB
