Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

If you mean the one in the suicide resource compilation, I believe the first post is the information guide and the rest of the thread is for the discussion of the hanging method in general where people can ask questions. I think megathreads are created to stop people from making individual threads every time they have a question about the specific method.

Yes! I find the main info page is way too vague too.

Well I feel like doing it right now but I only have the bedpost that I can use, and I only currently have a scarf. I feel like I should be able to do it with that given how people manage in psych wards, but I don't know whether to try kneeling or lying down and I just basically feel like it won't work.

I hope you don't mind questions. What knot is used to tie the rope to a bar? What knot for the formation of the actual noose? Is the nose supposed to slide closed around your neck on its own or is the noose length rigid? What section of the neck do you tie the noose around, right under the jaw, at the basin of the throat, in the middle—detail with this especially would be helpful.

To tie the rope to the anchor point I'm going to use the bowline knot, it's quite secure.
the position of the rope depends more on you, you need to test and see what works best, for me personally, I managed to block the carotid arteries by leaving the rope above the Adam's apple and very close to the mandible.

I will use this noose:

In your experience is it best to have the bar directly above you and basically hanging straight down or to be leaning forward away from it?

the noose will move to tighten the neck during hanging.

it works best to simply let all the muscles in the body stand still and let gravity freely pull the body down, no muscular effort is required.
