I'm a 45 year old single man with multiple mental illnesses I have a skin condition called psoriasis plus fibromyalgia I ache constantly,I'm utterly bored with my own existence,my job means nothing to me beside a wage and I live in a very pretty but indescribably dull village there is only one pub and that's only filled with pensioners,I cannot see how life is going to get anymore interesting than this so is there any point??

Honestly, there's no ultimate point in anything unless you make one yourself. Everyone has basically 3 options: finding purpose, continue living or exit.
I agree with you here. @Bruces it may sound cliched and overused but it's the truth. The only one who can establish any meaning to your existence is you yourself.
Establishing meaning to ones life or giving purpose to ones life is the toughest thing to do when one is reached a state of contemplating CTB.

Plus the fact that my dads wife (my step mum) only died 6 months ago it would destroy my father!
@Bruces I am so sorry for ur situation , I am also over 40 and can't see my life improving from here ... Although I am physically fit my anxiety and depression makes me wanna end it soon.
I totally agree. I am 64, chronic 24/7 massive pain, major depression, and now job loss. No one seems to know or care about situations like this, except all of us here. I truly hope you take a step back, and remember that all of us here love you and are thinking of you.

@Bruces, I'm sorry you're feeling this way. Since you don't want to end your life, please think about how you can change something, even something small. Get a bicycle, a pet, some volunteer work; when you change one thing, other things change. It sounds so trivial but it can make a good difference. (((Hug)))
On the face of it my life looks pretty good,I have my own place,next door to my folks a half decent a job,a lovely dog,nice car I'm just so very very screwed up in the head!!

Heavily agree. Life doesn't come with progression deadlines other than the ones you impose on it. If you want to go it's because you want to go. You decide when the right time is.
This life malarkey is just too much hassle,don't wanna be here and can't go,wish I'd not bothered but then that's putting blame on parents
