I may have already posted this, but I ordered SN, and I need it to work. It sounds like the most peaceful way to go that I have access to. I suppose it all relative though. The salt burn and potential vomiting sound awful. But once it kicks in, it sounds bearable. Success stories obviously don't live to tell the tale, so I wonder where all the stories come from about it being peaceful.
I am waiting for it to arrive. I hope I have the courage, as my life has become unbearable, and I can't see how it can get any better as I will always be battling with my mental illness,
Any thoughts on the SN method and its reliability ? I have read tons of posts about it....just wondering if there is anything new, as I know at least one person claimed to be taking it today...

It could be really painful: unbearable pain in stomach and headache, also suffocating and seizures. All of this during 20-40 minutes.

If you're lucky you will only feel nausea and light headache and then lose consciousness.

there is no suffocation with SN, period. that's not how it kills. It will almost certainly cause shortness of breath from the tachycardia it induces which is where people get confused, but that's not the same thing as suffocation.

As for the stomachache and headache, those are both very valid concerns. It seem to be variable as all hell on here. It depends on body composition and bioological variability, pain perception, how closely the guide is followed, and a host of other factors we don't really know for sure. The unfortunate reality is you don't know how it will affect you until you take it, and trying to microdose is useless and harmful, you're just building up a tolerance and if you choose not to go through with it you're needlessly exposing yourself to carcinogens.

It's very unfortunate, i feel for you, I'm struggling myself with reconciling that my last moments likely won't be as peaceful as i had hoped. This is what happens when euthanasia isn't legalized and regulated.

The stories about it being peaceful come from Stan's Guide, where I think six people were observed having what seemed to be peaceful exits, and from some goodbye threads that seemed peaceful until they were on the brink of passing out. Other goodbye threads show more pain, and posts about failed attempts typically talk about a lot of pain, and some people call an ambulance due to the pain. Following the guidlines of Stans Guide improves chances of a peaceful way but this does not guarantee this.

I've read maybe 3 people out of the hundreds of post I've read saying they had unbearable pain in their stomach. Although you never know you do it.

Can you link the post to failed attempts "typically talking about a lot of pain" ?

"hot, piercing headache behind the eyes. like i was slowly being strangled, kind of. (because i guess, i was.) like a really, really, slow painful drowning."

"breathing was impossible and my heart was racing. like i said, my head felt like it was popping out."

It's important to share her experience. It's not the only one post, there are many other posts about pain but it's difficult to find them.

That OP did not follow the pph and Stan guidelines. And to be perfectly honest, the posts are most likely fake.

Following guidelines will not help you with suffocation.
OP provided photos of her and blue lips after attempt, don't believe it's fake.

That is not what suffocation is. The blue tinted lips come from the Methoglobinemia, which has to do with impaired Oxygen transport due to these abnormal cells competing with hemoglobin. This is NOT suffocation. A person may feel short of breath, but they are not suffocating.

I'm not arguing that SN is always peaceful at all, as I mentioned in my above comments it seems highly variable from the anecdotal evidence we have, and I would never tell anyone considering this method they shouldn't be prepared for some level of pain and/or discomfort. But it's important to not confuse terms about what's happening.

YOU DON'T FEEL SUFFOCATION!!!!! SCIENCE IS THE REASON WHY! You are a FEAR MONGERER. That's what you do. I knew I would read your posts as soon as I saw the thread. I knew you'd be in here. I'm so sick of these fear mongering threads. Yet again your source is from a questionable post. Some people write bad experiences on purpose, right? And you do the same as your friend whom you quoted. His post barely made any sense. I'm done with this. You are a waste of time and you only like to freak people out. What a joke.

I've noticed this as well. Calling people a waste of time is cruel though.. maybe.. right? Their intentions might not be to scare people. Who knows.. hard to tell over the internet. Although yeah.. lots of fear mongering and sharing of questionable post instead of sharing one's that have been smooth and successful.

Do you think SN even at its worst is more comfortable/peaceful than hanging? Sounds like with both loss of consciousness can be prolonged. It also seems there may be a higher risk of failing with hanging. I am really caught between the two. I've practiced with hanging and had to stop, I couldn't take it.

Imdomt think hanging is anywhere near as peaceful as SN, so long as you take an sickness tablet and a fee sedatives or alcohol it should be fast and pain free. Hanging for me is too messy, to much risk of failure and the risk of doing more harm than good.

You can try partial, lose of consciousness is quick, but SI is very strong.
