  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I'm trying to choose a tent I can't understand somethings. I looked at some tents online, I want help understanding what I should be looking for. In a fully proof tent Is the inner of the tent supposed to be 3000mm waterproof because the tents I found only the rain fly was waterproof. Thanks. If only the rain fly should be waterproof then how is it not gonna leak? I don't understand. Would appreciate if someone can help picking a tent

It is the inner that needs to be 3000mm waterproof (to prevent the gas escaping through the material) and you'll need to seal up any openings.

Here is a thread where someone documented their experience with 3 different tents - the third being the one that finally worked.

I beg you to answer cuz there were things I couldn't understand. Does it have to be sewn in groundsheet, is something necessary. And can I please pm you thanks very much.

This is the method I am going with, also. I'm trying, myself, to understand how one can know if the groundsheet is sewn in when descriptions online don't tell you anything like that, nor are the pictures good enough to be able to tell. It would be better to see tents irl in a store.

I say, yes, it would be best if the groundsheet were sewn in. Makes sense, doesn't it? The less places there are for the CO to escape, the better. No PMs please. PMing me won't do any good. I don't know anything more than what I've stated. Instead of messing with a tent, I may just make an enclosure out of plywood and seal all the assembled joints and, possibly, seal all of the wood itself with something like polyurethane or something.

I do not know for sure, so sending me a PM won't help any. I really only know what I have read in threads here.

My assumption is that if the groundsheet is not fully attached, you could possibly tape it to the edges of the tent in order to provide a fully sealed environment.
