  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

No, it's a nurse that hear about online who has dealt with several suicides- I do believe her though, it's consistent with other things I have read.
I hope you don't mean Quora coz that is a terrible place to get info...
Of course it isn't. This member also said SN fails more than it succeeds, and now they're making the ridiculous claim that all recent attempts at partial in this forum failed. I would take whatever this person says with a grain of salt.

I mean -- "I heard it from some nurse online?" Can't get more believable than that.
Yeah tbh some of the things they've said don't add up for me either...

Personally I wouldn't go with anything that hadn't really been tried and tested eg full suspension, drowning, exit bag, SN. I know sometimes people are desperate and resort to all sorts of strange methods but I'd rather know that what I'm doing has a history behind it.
Personally, taking a bunch of pills and taping a bag over my head and securing myself in a way that I can't remove the bag seems the best to me but there's nowhere I can secure myself in a way that guarantees I won't fall over or rub my head against something.
I have a romantic idea of drowning in the ocean too because I live in a country surrounded by ocean and I love the beach. I'd love to paddle out into the middle of nowhere, take a bunch of pills or SN and lower myself into the water and night night. That would be my favourite. But it's hard to find a secluded beach and get a kayak too.
Please, never drown yourself. When you breathe water, your lungs will feel like it's burnt. Let alone actually burning yourself.

I confused isnt partial hanging done by many successfully each year?

This old woman also did it?
I read a post a few hours ago from someone who used to be a prison guard and he said all hanging suicides in prison while he worked there were partials while people were sitting down. He no longer is a prison guard and he has tried partial himself 25 times, trying to sit in the exact same position they did and trying to get the knot in the exact same position they did and he is very frustrated that he has never gotten this to work in 25 tries.

Please, never drown yourself. Choking and breathing water are the worst pain the human body can experience.

Self-immolation is supposed to be the worst way to die. Followed by drowning. There is a reason why governments use waterboarding as the main form of torture. I didn't realize how many phobias I had until I started planning my suicide. Didn't know I was scared of heights, large bodies of water, sharp objects, etc.

The trick I found my last failed attempt is to go completely limp and drop your weight into the noose. You start to fade out in seconds. But I started to panic and pulled myself up. My last attempt was my undoing. Now that I know how to do it, I can't find it in me to make another attempt. So I opted for N instead.

I think partial is really complicated and needs much practice. Maybe not everybody is able to hang partial...

I really don´t understand why partial hanging was "invented" at all. It has no befits. The pain caused by the pressure to the neck cannot be the reason, because the pressure depends not only on the body weight but also on the diameter of the rope.

The problem is not so much the SI during unconsciousness but much more the SI before you black out. My experience with partial hanging: Before I pass out I stand on my feet instinctively.

The only reason for partial hanging, I can imagine is, that someone wants to play Russian roulette with a rope.

There are benefits: If you are disabled it´s easier to do partial, if you only can do it at home it´s easier to find a place for partial than for full suspension.

Yes this is what I'm hoping for soon when I do it cause I'm disabled also and going to try partial via night night method. Just hope the extra pressure on my neck alone from the padding would help make me pass out faster.

I'll be trying again tomorrow, full suspension this time. If I had done full last time, I wouldn't be here. Hopefully things go well. May everyone else find their peace too.

Spürt man Schmerzen während bewusstlosigkeit?

I tried this And had the same thing happen. I blacked out for a few moments and then woke up desperately trying to free the scarf from my neck.
