I have SN, and I just got a prescription refill for Hydroxyzine as an antiemetic. I have benzos as well. I could die right now.

My last issue is locale. I do not want to leave here where I am. I'm thinking about taking a train or bus up north maybe. Not sure where. Weird to think that it's closing in on me now.

Hydroxyzine works as an antiemetic? I take that for my anxiety. That's one less thing to find.

I've been here a fairly long time.😉 Look at some who have thousands of posts!😮
I wonder if the NYT article brought some high ctb people here?
I could be wrong!😏

I think you're absolutely right. I'm one of them. With the amount of time I've spent on here researching, I feel like it's been so much longer than it has. I will say this - Prior to the NYT article, I was desperate, stuck in a medical hell that has to end eventually, and unable to find the information I needed. So I thank the NYT once again for leading me here, and thank god (or whatever) for the services that SS provides.

yes, but not a great one. Most first generation antihistamines (like hydroxyzine) have some antiemetic effect.

edit: these are not a good choice for SN method anti-emesis. dopamine blocker antiemetics are what is optimal. Hydroxyzine isn't a dopamine blocker.

Just because you have the tools in your tool box does not mean you have to use them. Take some time and think it through. God gave us free will so you can do what you want.

I found this place right before the article was released, but I don't disagree that it probably caused more people to go for it. I don't really post on here because I am a fairly busy person and don't really like telling people how I feel anyway. I lurk pretty often.

Hydroxyzine is not a good antiemetic.

Regardless of greatness, it's all I could find. Unless someone has a good script for asking a doctor for antiemetics - not gonna have access to anything else.

Some people might join and feel less alone maybe? Feeling alone, isolation, having no one to confide in are all risk factors for suicide. Maybe finding a community or group allows some people to find comfort in unexpected ways that actually work to help keep them alive longer. I could be wrong

I agree. I hate how this site is demonised by the media. If our healthcare system treated mental health better and society didnt ostrisize people for speaking up about their struggles things would be very different i believe. Speaking for my myself i came to this site when i was already in a dark place. SS doesnt make people suicidal.

it's been scientifically proven that free will doesn't exist.

Anyone who has suffered from medical malpractice of the kind of drug therapy that causes mania and psychosis knows free will has its limits. I couldn't think properly at all- it was like I was possessed.

Anyway it doesnt really matter. How are you OP? I very much relate to 'weird to think it's closing in on me now.'x
