Venting I hate the concept of social eating

I hate it especially in company lunches when it's strangers, but increasingly I hate it also with my family ever since I became depressed.

I don't care if some people enjoy eating together and do it, but I hate that it's forced upon everyone, or that it is somehow "weird" or "sad" when some want to eat alone or in front of a TV.

Part of it is that I have misophonia and hate the sound of others eating, and another big part is that my severe depression doesn't allow me to just break into conversation freely at will. So set breakfast and dinner times feel forced. When it's with strangers, my social anxiety makes my muscles freeze up and I become conscious of how I look and sound, totally spoiling any enjoyment I could get from my food.

I hate norms and force! Just leave me be!

Saame here, my thoughts exactly! Especially when I used to be at work, they'd set up places for us all to sit. I'd just walk outside to my truck with a nervous laugh, Liike... Hey! We're Good, I'm good. Don't worry about it. Damn, some fucked off memories lemme tell ya.

Ohh yeah... The sound of people drinking and eating, Wow. That shit can be Extremely rough for me to say the Least. Thanks for sharing this, you are Not alone. ♥

Yeah, I'm happy I'm single and live by myself. I enjoy pulling up a warm meal and sitting in front of the TV and watching a nice show.

Once in a rare while I enjoy an outing with coworkers. I just had one a couple of weeks ago. We ate a lot of meat(Chinese,kebabs,steak),Rice and alcohol on the side.Now if you ask me to do it anytime soon. I wouldn't like it. But I did enjoy this time, and I do enjoy it once in a while. Reclusive as I am and rarely sighted by human beings . I am still human and so enjoy a bit of socialisation.
